Message 1535624 - Posted: 3 Jul 2014, 20:52:28 UTC - in response to Message 1535604.

101 degrees F, and 9% relative humidity outside at 12:43 pm on July 3rd in Yermo, California...

At least it's a dry heat. Humidity kills me.

It's still good enough to give one heat exhaustion, one person died recently cause of the heat, one should carry at least a gallon of H2O if one is going to be exerting oneself outside, Me I don't, so I can withstand the heat, I drive when I have to, even without fully working a/c.

This morning is a carbon copy of yesterday's.

I hope that the ceiling fan in the shed can get the temp up to 26C again today.

Cheers.

I don't guess you have a yard to cut. That's a plus, at least. ;~}

No I don't, but don't be lured into a false sense of security, a dry heat can make one perspire like crazy, I should know, I don't need to do more than go out into 107F heat and when I come inside I sweat like niagara falls almost, you need to hydrate. I once fell cause of the heat in SC(South Carolina) and I weighed about half of what I do now, though I was in pretty good shape, I think it was heat exhaustion, I was out for a minute or so, I think that's where I dislocated My shoulder blades too.

I've never experienced desert weather, but I know SC is terribly humid. Kentucky can be bad, but generally ok.

Bizarre, but wonderfully welcome July weather persists here: 82 F, and 22 % Rh. If this is climate change for my hometown, I'll take it.

It was colder here last night before I went to bed (0C/32F) than what is was this morning (5C/41F), but we're having a foggy white out. Visibility was less than 10 metres (33'), but it's slowly getting clearer now (about 50m/55yrds).

Cheers.

Currently 86, dew point 65, RH 50%, heat index 88.

Today is supposed to be the hottest of the week. Storms tonight bring the humidity down a bit, high in the 70s Wednesday before it climbs up again for next weekend.

With the RH that low, the heat index is probably the same as the temp.
