That it is. I still say that a post I made approx. 7 years ago is still valid today..... 2050AD somewhere out there..... Astronomy student says to teacher.... 'Huh? All signals have stopped from Sol" Teacher 'That's not possible. They are such a prolific little species, let me check. Damn, you're correct' 2100AD E.T lands on Earth and finds 85% covered by water with the remaining 15% a barren desert with no sign of life. I also did a corresponding post which was much better but don't have the time to search for it. |

Are you seriously implying that Leaders are no better than Cockroaches. ...they look in the mirror... ... & their reflection are us! Sad indictment of mankind I'm afraid. |

http://globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com/2014/04/09/russia-trying-to-create-climate-of-chaos-in-ukraine-zakaria/?hpt=hp_t3 This is a reasonably well balanced opinion. Fareed Zakaria is well known for understanding the situations around the world. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

http://globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com/2014/04/09/russia-trying-to-create-climate-of-chaos-in-ukraine-zakaria/?hpt=hp_t3 I'm afraid not. He allows factological errors that makes his opinion and fairness very questionable: We invaded Iraq, we invaded Afghanistan, and Putin still invaded Georgia and he still annexed Abkhazia and South Ossetia. http://globalpublicsquare.blogs.cnn.com/2014/04/09/russia-trying-to-create-climate-of-chaos-in-ukraine-zakaria/?hpt=hp_t3 Thank you! All I want is an unbiased account of what is happening. I know the US has done some really stupid things in the past. The second war with Iraq, was all about oil, and was planned long before 911. What wasn't planned was how long it would take, and still not have control of Iraq's oil. I consider that a huge blunder on the US's part, and it never should have happened. I consider that a huge blunder on the US's part, and it never should have happened. The US doesn't need foreign oil as much as it did only a decade ago because of franking. Canada is begging US to take more and the US at present burns off 30% of the Natural Gas it pumps along with oil because there is no place to put it. The Western World is treating this "crises" with a big yarn, nether gold or oil has gone up. |

You are right about the fracking reducing the US dependance on foreign oil sources. Things have changed a lot in the last 10-15 years. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Canada is begging US to take more Actually waht they want is access to our refineries and seaports so that stuff can be sold in the world market. |

USA LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) Exports: Obama Administration has approved only a few requests. But not to China, Western Europe, Japan or South Korea. The robber oil barons only care about robber oil barons. They say the US must save the Ukraine by exporting LNG. Total bull. The US has an abundance of natural gas, now, but not the ability to liquify it nor the ships to transport it. If the US went all out building the infrastructure it would take decades before the US could supply enough to make a difference. It is all about the money to be made selling overseas not some bull about saving the Ukraine. I'm all for letting them build all the pipelines, refineries and drilling where they want but only for domestic consumption. After all the world ran out of oil in 1972 and we don't want that to happen again. |

Basically this is because Australia supplies countries from India through to Japan. ;-) Cheers. |

That is because OZ, and two other colonies, have a "special relationship" with US, through their Sovereign I assume as the Prime Minister didn't know about about the Five Eyes club until 1971, ; there are more members, not special but NATO, the "club", through the NSA, pays for information but does not share any. NSA type spying has been going for 68 years with the help of the Sovereign, and Churchill; it was no doubt Churchill who convinced the Sovereign that the minor PMs didn't have a need to know. Texas, Montana, North Dakota and the Western Provinces of Canada, are already 'Boom Towns'. Proof of a robber baron mentality is the burning off of 30% of the NG that is pumped up with oil because they can't store or transport it. Why not leave it where it had been for million of years until they can store or transport it. The bright lights in North Dakota are the burning off of perfectly good NG. That isn't right put it in Google Loons and fly it to the Ukraine. |

That would be real good and not only for Ukraine but for Earth as whole - burning produces lot of CO2 and we have beed told constantly that warming effect grows... SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

That would be real good and not only for Ukraine but for Earth as whole - burning produces lot of CO2 and we have beed told constantly that warming effect grows... This is true, but also, in 1500 years, we will be in another ice age. The "warming" is actually delaying that a few hundred years, but in 1500 years, the earth's orbit and tilt, will bring us to another ice age. I guess it what we do between now and then that could alter things, if only to a portion of the natural occurrences. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Well, saving gas for future to warm that ice age instead of just burning it now will be good thing too. Still looks like win-win proposal ;) SETI apps news We're not gonna fight them. We're gonna transcend them. |

they want is access to our refineries and seaports Regardless it is much better to have pipelines over your land than Canada's. applies to Canada. Please, let Canadians decide what applies to Canada..... |
