All this makes me sorry that no one that I personally know participates in the Seti@home project. At least none have told me they do.

Bob, the 20 or so people I've met in person from this project, I have met BECAUSE they crunch seti. None of them were people I knew before I joined the project. I have had the pleasure of making and meeting seti friends from all over the world and it has been an absolute thrill! I plan to meet more in the future.

This makes me wonder. Are there others here in central Florida who at least use the boinc software to crunch seti@home data and is there a local users group. I am a member of the UCF team but have never had any contact with the other members. Finally how would I seek out other crunchers locally without resorting to using that dreaded site called Facebook.

For a while, there was a list of BOINC Users @ Google Earth. Hasn't been updated in years, but the links still work - you might recognise a name locally. If anyone is active enough to add themselves to the map, they'd probably respond positively to a PM.

I have sent PMs to the other active members of the UCF Knights team numbering only six. Of the six only two have ever posted on the message boards. I will scout around and see if I can find anyone else in the central florida area.

I have a pic of Angela, Eric, Uli & I when I visited a few years ago. I can't remember if it's been posted before though, don't think Uli was keen?

Really need to repeat that trip - it's on my bucket list! Angela & Eric were so accomodating, I was somewhat taken back by it all at the time. What a lovely couple :) The invite extends back this way of course :)

Andy, it is ok with me and also with Eric if you post that picture. I think KWSN Holy Hand Grenade was also in that picture, so you will just need to get the permission of two others. If I recall correctly, I have a particularly goofy expression on my face in that photo. I only have one word of explanation for that goofy look... "tequila"!!!

Hehehe:)) I love this thread! There are a few people whom I really want to know what they look like, actually only 1 person atm...I don't think he will post his pic here though:)

...because I hate my picture taken. :-) Seriously, the last picture anyone can find of me is on my high school graduation day with my pet dog Brandy. I actively avoid all cameras to keep my privacy.

.... wait, no! It was a dream. I really don't exist! I'm actually just a really bad Turing program that was meant for deletion long ago. I chose exile rather than deletion, and this has made the Programmer very unhappy.
