How about you? Have you ever had dreams that seemed connected to future events?

I had lucid dreams when I was in a coma.

Lots of things. I realized I was dreaming, I looked down on my dreams as an observer. And when something hurted, the pain was for real. I could consciously manipulate my own dreams, very strange... Never had that in my 'normal' dreams before...

I've had times when I could manipulate my dreams a little bit, but it's always been kind of like being in the water...

I have a lot of the classic dreams like where you haven't been to class all semester and you realize there's a test today. I also have recurring dreams that I'm in a large house with many interconnecting rooms and doors(kind of like the Matrix), and I don't know where to go.

Ive had 3 deja vue dreams. And one sorta repeat dream that were years apart. the first time I dreamt I was in a old house being chased by someone wanting to kill me. The second dream I was watching the Tv when a commercial came on showing a trailer of my first dream. that was wierd.
And Ive only had one black and white dream. I dream in colour.

James I dream in color too.

I dreamt that King Kong was after me and picked me up and then threw me in a lake. I was a teenager at the time, Probally about 1968 or so. I have no idea waht the deam meant but it was the only one in black and white, Thats why it stands out to this day.

I'm booking a session with a psychologist to see if they can get me to stop dreaming my favourite dream:

I once had a nightmare of a flying horse when I was a child, this one though was as black as a typical chess piece or a black hole, it was flying around, but that's all that I consciously remember.

I just had a conversation with someone at work last night who insists he can alter his dreams at will. I don't think it's that easy, but I'm kind of lazy... ;~). I let the dream play out...

+1:) That's why they're dreams I guess:) Some people do have lucid dreams all the time, especially in old cultures.

The older cultures didn't have all the modern distractions we have, so I bet dream interpretation and dreaming in general was much more important.

+2 :)

I've only ever taken control in one of my dreams. I had somehow got separated from my family and children and was waiting on a balcony from which I couldn't seem to get down from. The balcony overlooked a tunnel I knew they were in. Suddenly people were running out the end of the tunnel screaming about it being flooded so I turned it into a water slide and everyone else who came out of it were laughing - including all the people I loved most in the world. I would have woken up sobbing without that little twist. :)

I don't think I have ever been able to control my dreams or to interact with them. I always seem to be just a spectator, or the object of the dream. But the dream is always in total control.

I also, come to think of it, cannot even tell you if I dream in color or black and white....
It's only the concept or events in the dream that I can sometimes recall when I awake.

I can do this, but I have no need of this talent very often. No nightmares as I can steer them in a more positive direction.

I really don't have too many nightmares, but I have plenty of bewildering, discombobulating dreams, where there's no real way to steer yourself out of them. It's like being in a foggy maze with no exit.
