The RAC will drop a little more, no UL... Again!!! Same here. Noticed that Marvin is now shown as running at 21:20:05 UTC. No AP splitting yet. Another Fred Support SETI@home when you search the Web with GoodSearch or shop online with GoodShop. |

Yup, something must be terribly wrong with that UL server. It wasn't many days since it died the last time. Check it out...marvin is back. Maybe some APs? Maybe I can use my Mac again? Maybe... |

Yup, something must be terribly wrong with that UL server. It wasn't many days since it died the last time. Good news is the download servers still seem to be alive for MB. At least can keep the machines busy ... |

Only 7 APs left. This isn't looking good. AP life as I have known it, is about to end. Do it the other way around! |

Yup, something must be terribly wrong with that UL server. It wasn't many days since it died the last time. Your ATI card will drop to 1/4 when running MBs verses APs. It's been known for a while. ATI cards score 4x higher running APs, it's the same with ALL my ATI cards... |

Yup, something must be terribly wrong with that UL server. It wasn't many days since it died the last time. NO when UL are down you will not receive any new WU. 05/03/2014 19:06:50 | SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: too many uploads in progress |

I don't suppose there is anything in this but from my observations of upload outages, they are happening almost exactly every two days. Coincidence? Genuine symptom? |

Yup, something must be terribly wrong with that UL server. It wasn't many days since it died the last time. Yup. Caught it before too many ULs were hung, and was able to get 200+ DLs to refill the 2-day cache on all 3 machines. |

Yup, something must be terribly wrong with that UL server. It wasn't many days since it died the last time. The limit is 2x the number of CPUs (cores) in the machine - memory fails as to whether it's >= or simply > that number. Either way, a slow machine can carry on for hours without noticing any difference, but a machine like Juan's only has a few minutes grace. The other wrinkle: until you report a task as completed, the server has no way of knowing that it isn't still 'in progress'. And you can't report the task until it's been uploaded. So, if you were at the quota limit when uploads stop, you stay that way for the duration. |

I don't suppose there is anything in this but from my observations of upload outages, they are happening almost exactly every two days. Coincidence? Genuine symptom? Can't be exactly every two days, can they? I remember at least a couple starting around midnight, Berkeley time: this one was more like lunchtime, ~13:30 local. There was talk of replacing the AP science database server with a different machine: since this happened during working hours, my money is on something in the complex web of dependencies between the servers broke while they were switching the new server into place - either a configuration problem with the new OS, or somebody tripped over the proverbial cable while maneuvering the new hardware into place. In either case, it's a big enough glitch that somebody will notice before they lock up for the day. Won't they? |

Either way, a slow machine can carry on for hours without noticing any difference, but a machine like Juan's only has a few minutes grace. Just curious. Do you know if GPUs count in that equation as well as cores/threads? From what I've seen, it seems they might. |

but a machine like Juan's only has a few minutes grace. Very few minutes... I still hate the 100WU limit... At least my electric bill will be lower this month. :( <edit> GPU´s don´t count in the equation. |

<edit> GPU´s don´t count in the equation. Something else going on, then, as I've observed that I can get DLs with more than 4 ULs queued per machine, as would be the case with my puny dual core machines. As was previoulsy noted, it seems to be in the range of 8-9 before it's an issue. |

AP splitters have come online. Hope the AP work starts again. The feeding frenzy starts, I hope Michael |
