Now I have to ask myself a philosophical question: do I add my phone to Seti Main, or just keep it on Beta? I put it on Einstein, but just so it would have something to do after it got limited on the number of errors on 7.25 and 7.26. Well, I still have at least a couple more days to decide. That's how long it will take to finish its first pair of 7.27s. 7.21 worked like a charm for me at Beta, so it should be fine here. Rather impressed with how fast the Galaxy S4 is. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

I have been running the NativeBOINC app on my not so powerful android phone for a few months now. The app seems to be doing a good job in crunching, so far. ______________ |

Well, I added Seti main to my phone, and the silly thing immediately went out and downloaded a task and started running it, pausing one of its Beta tasks. I hit the pause button on it at 47 seconds and it went back to running the Beta. I expect the Betas to finish sometime on Saturday. Then I'll turn it loose to run according to resource shares. i'm having issues with the android app Android apps (plural), there are five different ARM Android apps released here, your host has managed to run all five of them so far, and each one has managed to complete at least one task: Application details for host 7223176 Of the tasks in your task list, each finished task (whether they errored or not) has had a SIGSEGV: segmentation violation, one even complete afterwards: All tasks for computer 7223176 Eric is still actively developing the apps, expect updated apps over time as he and the other developers get a better handle on the problems, be it app or api. i'm having issues with the android app Hmmm. My Note 2 liked 7.21 just fine on Beta. It did one 7.21 here on main in between marathon 7.27s at Beta and came up with an extra triplet, but it validated anyway. I'm trying to remember if 7.21 was the version that had that problem frequently at Beta. I've been looking into both SETI and distributed computing for quite some time, and the Android app made me take the first step towards becoming a SETIzen. |

Samsung has the powersleep app also, which is subset of BOINC (I was told). Sometimes these announcement are more for publicity than anything else, otherwise they will promote BOINC long ago. It is when the phone manufacturer are involve they feel like they need to let the world know they are doing good for humanity, lol. My old ONDA tablet is running Android 4.02 with Allwinner A10 (cortex-A8, vfp+NEON). This is the only device that keep giving SIGSEGV and yet it often complete its task. My phone and TV sticks are running Android 4.2.x and I never seen SIGSEGV on them. |

Samsung has the powersleep app also, which is subset of BOINC (I was told). If "subset of BOINC" is codespeak for what us plain-Jane folk call "100% BOINC, but will only run SIMAP"... then yeah:) http://boincsimap.org/boincsimap/ Oh, and welcome to Seti Roy! I think you'll like it here:) |

My phone just finished a task and sure enough, it has an extra triplet and got marked inconclusive. My next one is at 100% now, so it should finish and report in the next few minutes. We'll see what happens with it. [edit] The next one has finished and uploaded, but its wingmate hasn't yet. My phone just finished a task and sure enough, it has an extra triplet and got marked inconclusive. I saw a few of those as well, but I did not see enough to keep track of which app had them. However I currently have one from the armv6-vfp app like yours. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

My phone just finished a task and sure enough, it has an extra triplet and got marked inconclusive. Update: The WU where I got the extra triplet came back from a third host without the triplet, but I got credit anyway. The other one is still pending. My next pair are charging right along and could be done by the end of the day, if I keep it plugged in most of the time.
