Donations to SETI@home Number of donations 1 Total amount $25.00 Last donation received 27 Sep 2013, 19:54:05 UTC Are all your donations anonymous? no (click here to change) That is what my account page tells me. -- one donation -- Yet I receive every month a thank You letter from Berkeley politely thanking me of supporting financially the project. I do so - they are correct. I'd like to get the #of donations to show the actual number and Berkeley to save the over seas (to Europe) postage fee and to stop sending any "thank You" letters. Im supporting Seti in the name of the Racoon lovers team and since I have set up my banking account to do so automagically, I'm going to leave it unchanged. If you're receiving the confirmation by conventional mail, that's a big clue that the donations are not getting there with the e-mail address needed to credit your Seti account. Those confirmations are usually by email - or at least mine are. If you initiate the payment from on line banking, the infomation sent with the payment may be insufficient to id you - or in a format that the donation site can't import automatically. There are some cautions on the donation site that some methods of payment may not get a green star. I think you can use a debit card for a recurring monthly donation and get the same effect you see now. I didn't have a problem when I recently set a recurring monthly gift by credit card, and a debit card should be the same. From here in Oz, internationally, the confirmations appear to be by Green star and truckloads of snail spam about bears. "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all.
