Clark Prequels "The Sentinel" â€” short story (1951) "Encounter in the Dawn" â€” short story (1953) Main series 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) Film & book 2010: Odyssey Two (1982/4) Film and book 2061: Odyssey Three (1987) novel 3001: The Final Odyssey (1997) novel The 2001 screenplay was written by Clarke and Stanley Kubrick, but Clark wasn't involved in the later film Odyssey Two.
