After David's incident with his atomic clock; I think he's going to need a double shot of Jager, after work. I'll hold it for you 'til your off work, David. :-)

Thanks, but I'm going out after work. Don't want to get a DUI. Maybe a long island ice tea when I get home...

WWV signal is not too steady in alot of areas, one would think that the clock wouldn't do anything to update if it wasn't clear. When they said they were going to shut it down WWV around the world went crazy, they had no idea how many poeple depended on it around the world. :))

Hi Wiggo & Rama, you are quite correct, it was Arthur C. Clark as the author.

Rendezvous with Rama (1972)
Rama II (1989)
The Garden of Rama (1991)
Rama Revealed (1993)

Cheers Chris

I like your new screen name much better Dave:)

Weekend beer o'clock. Cheers!

Will get ready for that team date now. First a quick win...

Message 1492823 - Posted: 21 Mar 2014, 19:25:16 UTC - in response to Message 1492814.

The Space Odessey series was indeed written by Arthur C. Clark

Prequels

"The Sentinel" — short story (1951)
"Encounter in the Dawn" — short story (1953)

Main series

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) Film & book
2010: Odyssey Two (1982/4) Film and book
2061: Odyssey Three (1987) novel
3001: The Final Odyssey (1997) novel

The 2001 screenplay was written by Clarke and Stanley Kubrick, but Clark wasn't involved in the later film Odyssey Two. As of 2013 there are no plans for any more films in the series.

Thanks Chris
Cheers everybody

I was never a great book reader because I'd rather see it on TV, 2001 was okay and the meaning was all there I found it a bit boring. But that's just me of course.

Winning after a strange cardamom drink that tasted like nag champa incense...

Slow going here today, but I have managed to knock over 3 longnecks.

I might have something to eat now (just to buffer the old stomach a bit from the sloshing). ;-)

Cheers.
