Beer O'clock turned out to be short today as 2 PC's turned up for fixing.

The 1st was a nice quick job and the 2nd looks like it'll take a bit of homework on my part to figure out, but that's going to have to wait as we now have quite a few thunderstorms moving through atm and playing havoc with the power supply here.

So I might as well get myself another beer.

Cheers.

Nothing like a cranky computer, hate buying the replacement parts though. :)) I went through one about 2 months ago and it was a royal pain, next time it goes to the crusher. :)) An IDE drive is almost not to be found, only one company makes them now.

Cheers

Thankfully I have a very good parts supplier in Brisbane when parts are needed.

As for new IDE HDD's, forget about them over here unless you buy 2nd hand, but in my books any PC that needs a new 1 might as well be trashed because it would be a waste of money on a PC of that age.

The 2 here today are just software problems, it's just that the 2nd 1 has had some weird PC tuneup utilities installed and uninstalled which have left a lot of services and reg hooks left behind so stopping these services through command prompt and then sifting through regedit to completely remove them is a pain, but I've won (and earned a bit of petty cash into the bargain).

Now it's time for another beer. ;-)

Cheers.

In a few hours, it'll be Guinness time for me. I haven't had a real one on draft in a long time. Those cans and bottles with the nitro widgets in the bottom do a pretty good job, but nothing beats the real thing. ~That and a Scotch egg.

Hello... let me see... Wiggo, Grant, Zapped, Julie, TimeLord 4, Dave C and everyone else too! Was wondering if anyone fancied some lemon drizzle cake? I did sort of drop it a bit but it didn't get stepped on or anything. :)

Thank you, Annie; however, I'm going to be "good" and hold off on it. I've partaken of Jammie Dodgers and Jelly Babies; so, I have to watch the sweets. Maybe next time, though. ;-) :-)

Hello everyone!!! Sorry you're without energy today Grant. :( Timelord04's jelly babies or dunking a jammy dodger might be what you need - or perhaps just a relaxing break in the cafe with all the lovely people here :)

Hi Dave and Julie! And Wiggo when you arrive and anyone else I've missed too :)

Anniet, I have no idea what a jammy dodger is but sounds like a real kick the butt drink? :)) About all I drink is beer and or scotch or Vodka once in a great while. Iced tea in the summer and spike it. :)) In my complex we can't drink outside or smoke (which I don't anyway) 18 years off of them now. :)

Cheers

Good Morning Wiggo, you must be about up.

G'afternoon to you Grant (morning for me).

Yes I've been up a few hours now doing my usual home chores (and finishing off that last PC from yesterday), but the only 2 chores that I can't seem to get done is the vacuuming and mopping as it's pointless with all this rain here.

Beer O'clock in 1.5hrs, to everyone else I hope that you're enjoying your's.

Cheers.

Supposed to be getting on and off rain here for the next 7 days, squeezing rocks has been called off. :)) This would be a great day big pot of Rock Soup, I haven't made that in a while but shure is fun. :)
