Nicely done Julie - glad you've managed to keep the raiders at bay...

They never reached the cellar system - which will please Mike no end as he has a particularly fine collection of rare German Beers secreted down there, not too far from the John Clark Memorial Collection of Spirits.

(As an aside I am glad to see Mike is continuing the long-standing tradition of each Host of Rocky's establishing a collection of their favourite tipples)

Could I get a bowl of black eyed peas, please? Some people think eating
them on New Year's Day brings good luck, and I've nothing to lose.

Yes Julie it is good. With a -41C outside, this meal should help me to start the morning with maple syrup on it, 2 eggs and bacons.

So cold outside that if you take a metal object in your hand, it is a burning feeling.

Yes Julie and imagine one of my friend is living in Australia. It is 50C today.

Here, with that cold, we are drinking what we call a PONCE which is a cup of hot water (boiling) with 1 once of gin DeKypper plus half of a lemon, 1 spoon of honey and half spoon od sugar.

You drink that in front of the fireplace and your eyes close in 1 hour after. (Hi hi)

With Scotch instead of DeKypper, that is my cough & cold medicine. Innkeeper, may I have one, please? Sang myself hoarse at one of the First Friday art & music venues tonight. Need to soothe my throat so I can sleep.

Thanks much. Ahhhhhhhhh.
