There is a newish company in Detroit called Shinola of Detroit. They sell lovely well made watches, leather goods and bicycles, and they are trying to revitalize Detroit. I recently was given one of their watches, which given how well it is crafted, should last my lifetime and a few lifetimes after mine. I also happen to like their name.
