Really? Is my name Obama considering an attack outside of International Law? Is my name Hollande requesting that France "React with Force"? Am I the German Chancellor that provides German troops to NATO forces in Afghanistan but forbidding them to enter combat? Is my name Cameron wanting to commit UK forces to assist it's ally? I've been calling for things to blow? You sure about that? Suggest you re-read all my posts. Edit: Germany, France UK & America have spoken out about military options, surprising to see that Brussels remaining quiet. Oh yes the EU is still here...... ....it's silence is ominous. Obama, realizes he has no power. Has to call on Congress to give him power. Or is that, he realizes that if he dared to go in another war powers act would be the result and hamstring every future president.

Well I've called him a dictator but there's no way I'm apologising. He's backed down! Saw Cameron get defeated, knew his own citiizens didn't want another war on their hands so he's doing a "Cameron". Up till now the President had no intention of seeking congressional approval. He does not need it. THe only reason the President is seeking action from Congress is because he knows they will say no. If they really wanted to thwart the Presidents intent, they'll say 'yes' and leave it up to him. Congress also passed some law in favor of a strike using chemical or WMD. Lynn ID: 1410267 · |

Well Nick, if you ask me for a straight comment, then I shall say that, as far as I can see, looking at it by and large, taking one thing with another in terms of the average, then in the final analysis it is probably true to say, that at the end of the day, in general terms, you would probably find that, not to put too fine a point on it, there probably isn't much to say one way or the other. If America also votes not to get involved in Syria then there is every chance that Syria will continue to use chemical weapons. Reason, more I suspect to goad the West in to taking action hoping this with lead to an all out war against the west by the Arab lot. Personally, if we leave Syria alone Assad, I think, will be foolish enough, in the end, to eventually hang himself.
