Frankly, I don't know what is the best, or at any rate, the humanitarian thing to do.

I do have one teensy problem after all we have heard lately from our brave politicians.

Why did we not hear any of the 'immoral' rhetoric when the UK supplied chemical weapon materials to Saddam in Iraq?

Christ what damned planet are you living on?

One letter too many.

Conspiracy theory? So 9/11 & 7/7 were just figments of my imagination?

I'm struggling to see your link here. There's no real connection between the suicide bombers and the Syrian rebels.

Your second post regarding snipers...hmmn Assad's troops were they? You know that for certain? US/UK intelligence know that for certain?

Again, i haven't seen Chris allege that they were Assad's troops. It would be far better to stick with arguing about points that have actually been made rather than inventing things to disagree about.

So what was the point being made about snipers?

Struggling to see connection? Research some more then!

"Cannot Stand", so sit down then

"David Cameron has said the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government is "morally indefensible" after he recalled Parliament to discuss responses to the crisis."

So if I "allege" Cameron to be a Wally Woofter, it'll entitle him to call an airstrike on my computer then....

Desert Storm Part 2

"The White House said the US would release intelligence on last week's suspected attack in the next few days."

Another fake WMD casefile then. Released 9/10 days after the event? Intelligence agencies really that slow? Probably are as too busy reading data regarding their own citizens!

How strong is "Evidence"?

"Some, however, will demand much stronger proof, particularly in the wake of the faulty intelligence that was used as a reason to go to war against Iraq."

BTW, notice that on really sirius issues no crappy Waily Fail reports!

Back when the US was harping about Sadam having WMD's I thought it was BS. Now this Syrian thing is going on. Still sounds like BS. According to the latest reports we have assets in place for a strike.

I agree with the Dull on this . Obama is about to do something stupid.

And if he does, I never want to hear a word about Bush getting us invloved in Iraq again.

Does anyone really think that with the eyes of the world on them and just waiting for a chance to smash them, that the Syrian government would be stupid enough to use nerve gas ? I don't. Assad's main crime is he likes Iran.

But the world fell for the "They have WMD's" line ten years ago, so why not now ?

History always repeats. It's just that the cycles are getting shorter.

The funny thing is, that if I.D. Guy, Mark and a few of their mates actually took up arms and started a revolution. They would be hit with everything but the kitchen sink. A bit of nerve gas would be the least of their worries.

But of course it would be justified because they would immediately be declared "terrorists". :P

One man's "terrorist" is another man's "freedom fighter". You only have to look at who's running Israel these days......

Israel is a representative democracy with a parliamentary system, proportional representation and universal suffrage. The Prime Minister serves as head of government and the Knesset serves as Israel's unicameral legislative body. Israel has one of the highest life expectancies in the world. It is a developed country, an OECD member, and its economy, based on the nominal gross domestic product, was the 43rd-largest in the world in 2012. Israel has the highest standard of living in the Middle East and the third highest in Asia.

It's a shame that it is so stroppy for such a small Nation.

One man's "terrorist" is another man's "freedom fighter".

That is very true.

How stroppy would you be if all your neighbours wanted to throw you out of your home and into the sea, and threw explosive devices into your garden every other day.

The Middle East has always been a tinderbox with Sunni's vs Shi'ite's with smaller extemist sects. All fighting each other with major problems being stored up for future troubles in the Far East.

Just what intervention by the West becomes a "Bridge too far" in uniting all islamic countries? Will the West be able to "project" their might then?

With an average of 2.5 to 3 million muslims in every major western country, if just half of 1% become terrorists, that's 15,000 in every country. How will the West handle that?

Very. Israel's history isn't something to be proud of.
Despite, or perhaps because of, this it would be extremely foolish of Syria to provoke Israel with any form of attack.
Israel is not well known for exercising restraint in retaliating to threats.

Reactions to possible strike

"Next, Russia continues to warn that military intervention will have "catastrophic consequences" for the wider region, including a rise in radical Islam. This week Russia's deputy prime minister tweeted that "the West is playing with the Islamic world like a monkey with a grenade"."

Now if I had said that......

Emergency NSC Meeting

"A number of Conservative backbenchers have raised concerns about military intervention in Syria - but it is understood Tory MPs will be told to support the measures when they vote on Thursday."

Even if it goes against their conscience? Shades of Dictaorship, I thought we were a democracy?

At last, some common sense......

Opposition could oppose action

"The Labour amendment says it will "only support military action involving UK forces" if various conditions are met - including allowing UN weapons inspectors time to report to the UN Security Council on their evidence."

Yesterday I saw a news report about build up of aircraft at Akrotiri, which had picture of plane landing, that picture has now been replaced, but that aircraft AFAIK is only used by the US.

UK makes case for military action

"Prime Minister David Cameron has put his case for military action against Syria to British MPs, but has conceded intelligence that the regime used chemical weapons is not "100% certain"."

Took him long enough!

If that happens, it'll make Bush look like a pussycat compared to that muppet. This could spark off strikes against the West that'll make 9/11 & 7/7 a teddy bear's picnic.

The problem is that whatever happens, it's a lose/lose situation for the West. Go in and extremists will strike back, fail to go in & it condones further use of Chemical Agents.
