Come January 1 the Golden Bears will kick the stuffing out of the Badgers in Pasadena ... You are correct. Eric gets bragging rights AND the right to drown his sorrows in copious quantities of alcohol, no matter the outcome of the game. Don't tell the chancellor, but I think Eric has a slightly bigger spot in his heart for his undergraduate school than for his graduate school. |

Yes it has, but I can still buy my beer in pints!!! That's not even half a pint. It's only 0.44 UK pints or 8.8 fluid ounces. |

A Belgian pint is 25 centilitres, that's like 0.055 gallon... Yep pretty sure but then again in my experience pints are way bigger in the UK than in Belgium:)) This is how a regular pint looks in a Belgian pub: rOZZ Music Pictures |

A club meeting I attend monthly has a tradition of some of its attendees going out for pizza afterward. The numbers have dwindled over the years, but there used to be so many of us that the restaurant would just bring out pitchers of Coke/Pepsi (whichever they had), Diet whichever, and beer. There is a legend that one night, one of the guys was pouring beer for others and not being at all careful to avoid foam. When called on it, he is said to have claimed, "It doesn't matter, it's not real beer. See? It's in a plastic pitcher!" Why continental beer foams so much is beyond me. Perhaps they add detergent to it... The Kite Fliers -------------------- Kite fliers: An imaginary club of solo members, those who don't yet belong to a formal team so "fly their own kites" - as the saying goes. |

Why continental beer foams so much is beyond me. That might improve it. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Nah, its a continental fiddle to serve the tourists more foam than real beer. Once they've gone they pour all the foam back in the barrel, ready for the next lot :-) As long as there is enough real beer to wash down the cheezburger..... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Back in the day, a proper Canadian pub glass had a cheat line painted on it. Had to be liquid up to the line, no foam below the line, or you could send the glass back. Saw many an arguement/fight started over cheat lines in my youth. To put this in perspective for You Kids Today, back when I started legally frequenting Alberta beer halls, a regulation draft beer glass was 8 imperial ounces filled to the line, and the price had just gone up from 20 cents to 25 cents a glass. Many at the time predicted this would mean the End Of Civilization As We Know It. Personally, I was driven to drink. |

Not that anyone would have ever found me in such places as that. I was a bartender at that time and we fought to keep the price at 20 cents just so we would get the extra nickel as a tip. |
