There is a smart phone app called Waze that is a GPS navigation system that gets feedback from its users so it can alert you to congested traffic and suggest alternate routes around it. It also tells you when you are approaching a red light camera. Users can even report seeing cops along the road and this will be relayed to other users along the same road, who can confirm the report or say the cop is no longer there. I find their maps and directions to be somewhat unreliable (it once told me to get on the Indiana Toll Road and said my destination, a business, was on it). Users can report inaccuracies on the map and go on the web site to make corrections, but the few times I've tried it drove me nuts. I tend to use the GPS app that came preloaded on my phone, but it's not totally accurate either and the directions given for correcting it don't work at all. Won't work with My phone, Mines a flip phone, I still don't even know how to import a picture into the phone, it may take a cable or from the internet, I'd rather not have to go online as that involves per minute charges. If it's a flip phone, it's probably not a smart phone. Can it run any apps that aren't built in? Probably not and yeah it's not a smart phone, I don't like smart phones that much, PCs I can manage, I'd rather not have to run an av program and such on the phone just to use the phone, besides their expensive to use and to buy. 400 minutes for $20.00 a month and no contract, last month I had 187 minutes left on Virgin Mobile, besides My phone sort of resembles a StarTrek communicator, even though the phone is all black, I've yet to see a smart phone do that. But whatever floats your boat or makes you happy. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

My fingers are too big for smart phones.... Me too. I have a Samsung Note II. It has about the biggest screen out there that's still a phone and not a tablet. One great thing about smart phones is that they can serve as mobile wifi hotspots for laptops, if your plan allows. My fingers are too big for smart phones.... I have a Samsung Entro phone, just a basic phone, more than enough for Me, I can even check the bank balance on the fly and make calls from My car, but not when I'm driving, its quite liberating really. My job requires that I keep my GPS on. Our project is spread out over about 12 square miles. In case you call in an emergency they want to be able to find you. |

My fingers are too big for smart phones.... Well I'm around the internet enough as it is, I don't need to be online that much, but whatever floats yer boat. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I'm at the computer all day at work so it's a relief when I get home I can just listen to some music, paint or play some bass or guitar... Just to avoid an information overload:)) As My late Uncle said: Bingo... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
