Seriously. A nice little butcher shop in Sharbot Lake, Ontario puts on this event every year. They share their front lawn with the church and small business next door, put up a tent, and have local food and craft vendors as well. Pigs on a spit, hand made salads, local beers and wine and a local live band, all in the open air. Very enjoyable. But the highlight was visiting the butcher shop when we left. We picked up some chipotle bacon on the way out, and had it for breakfast today. Just amazing. ID: 1369828 ·

According to the San Francisco Examiner, neighbors also alleged the store was illegally dumping bacon grease into the sewers and the restaurant lacked the proper health permits to operate the business. I could see grease in the sewer being a problem. I found another article linked at the bottom of that one to be interesting. What no mayo with the bacon? Last night, I threw out my jar of Baconnaise. I bought it soon after it came out and tried it a couple of times, and then it sat in the fridge for years. It was time for it to go, and I finally thought of it on a Sunday night when I was taking out the garbage. I also threw out a package of 5 whole chicken breasts that sat in the fridge a bit too long before I froze them, and even longer after I thawed them.
