Message 1362021 - Posted: 28 Apr 2013, 2:41:44 UTC

Huh? Whazzat? I won? I get to start the new thread? Wow. That's almost as good as getting the box of cookies. Thanks, Ang. (Insert clip of Barney Fife saying "thanks, Ang" to Andy.)

The thread title notwithstanding, we do need stinkin' rules. The standard ones are:

The Last Person To Post Wins thread, general rules:
1. Winner of the last thread starts the new one with a post of these rules.
2. Chooses a future event which triggers the winner, e.g. post number, date-time, and records it privately somehow (yellow sticky, etc.)
3. Everyone has fun posting until the target event is reached.
4. When the target is reached, old winner posts declaration of new winner and also PMs them.
5. Shortly after this a Mod will lock the recently won thread.
6. Go to 1.

Supplemental rules:
A. Multiple posting (the same poster posting two or more posts in succession) is frowned upon, and no element of a multiple posting may trigger the winning event. Thus the first following non-multiple post will win.
B. However the winning event is defined, it should probably take less than 600 posts and less than two weeks to achieve.
C. Posting of larger pics is discouraged (Modem users do still exist, sometimes people read the forum via their mobile data, and these threads can get quite long.)
D. Don't post any clearly copyrighted pictures.
E. The post rules listed to the left of your post box are all enforced.

=========================================================

I'm going back to a post number for this one, although Angela's use of a date and time was an interesting variation. I have chosen one that I can remember, but I will write it down when I get home, just in case. As both a reminder to myself and a hint to the rest of you, it is related to trains.

I am not starting off with a theme, but I may establish one within 25 hours of now. (Why 25 hours? It's about when I'll probably go to sleep tomorrow night.)

Aaand... let the posting begin!

Well, congrats, David. Guess I'll take lead for a few minutes......

Okay, let's try this again.....

Sorry, Don. But I'm not competing with you in my own thread.

I was tempted to say this right away just to give you the frustration of me having done it again, but I passed.

Thanks to all who offered congrats.

Vic: prototype, but you can probably get one in HO.

I had an idea for a theme last night, but it didn't survive being slept on. Considering another idea now.

No, of course not.... But after leading for only 45 seconds....

I was tempted to say this right away just to give you the frustration of me having done it again, but I passed.

Frustration - nah, I was just wasting time until the late news came on.....
