RELIGION has killed more people than other men intended.

I remember saying exactly that here 5 years ago, when I got roundly castigated by everyone.

And rightly so, trying to blame violence and death solely on religion, when we know the USSR had no religion. Such a statement seems to be about as silly as saying that atheism has killed millions in the 20th century. Both simplistic views.

2) The inquisition.
3) The killing of the Native Americans.

Here is a link with some more information. There is a good post in this link that describes wars done for religion, and not for religion, but I wanted to include the whole link.

I have not forgotten and have, I am sure, discussed those things here before. I would not accuse you of trying to forget all the killing via Stalin and his ilk during the atheist rule of the USSR. I would not expect you to go for a simplistic answer.

I just find it totally incongruous that you can insult a persons family, country, King Queen or President, yet you disagree with their chosen religion and they'll kill you. Why does religion breed so many fanatics? You would think that possibly political persuasions might do that, as in the American Civil War.

Another interesting gun fact.
You can be jailed for wearing a t-shirt.

I love the NRA.

Talk about hypocrites! If you follow all the links on that article, you'll find one from 13 news which states that the school itself has a statue of a soldier carrying a gun & grenade.

If they win, then they should be forced to remove that statue!

Well someone should tell them that they're there to teach, not make political statements. They want to do that, enter politics!

The thing about glocks is they are like a revolver, There is no saftey. He must have carried another brand of pistol with a saftey and forgot the one he had didnt have one, Or he ignored the rule to keep your finger off the trigger unless you are ready to shoot.

Hes lucky he shot his foot, What if he had shot a kid? Better he be the butt of jokes than guilty of negligent homicide.

What in gods name was that idiot thinking of taking a loaded gun into a classroom with schoolkids.

A couple of years ago at one of my Mens clubs we had an after dinner presentation by a couple of guys from a local gun club. They brought about a dozen various hand guns, rifles, and shotguns. Before they passed each one around for us to have a look at, the presenter opened the gun, examined it carefully, particularly down the barrel, and said "clear". His assistant did exactly the same thing. Only when both men had declared clear, would they pass the gun around. Obviously they had not brought any ammunition with them, but nevertheless it was standard safety procedure, which was strictly followed at all times when dealing with an item that was capable of firing bullets.

I know nothing about guns and I don't want to know anything either. They are specifically designed and made to kill people and animals. In the early 60's a couple of my schoolpals had Diana .177 air rifles with little metal slugs. They thought it was jolly good fun to try to shoot birds out of the trees. I refused to have anything to do with it and threatened to report them to the RSPCA. We weren't friends any more after that.
