Seeing today is mantenance day. dont expect anything untill after the outage.

We are back, but no improvement here. Still can't connect on Main or Beta, even on NNT.

All seems fine here now, thank you.

[Edit] Er, no it's not: too many tiddlers blocking the pipes, I think. [End Edit]

After one spike of few WU more than a hour ago, all returns to the same, no connection to the servers in any of my hosts. I try by ussing 3 diferent ISP and they all give the same answer.

Got a bunch of work units, but needs a lot of babysitting.

The scheduler is certainly playing up - it just dumped me 161 new tasks in one lump. They are now downloading, with the better ones taking slightly less time to arrive than crunch, the worse taking a lot longer to arrive than crucnh.

For me it's playing up by not being there.
For almost an hour's clicking on Update all i got was "Couldn't connect to server". The one time it did connect to the server "Failure when receiving data from the peer" was the result.
On the other system i was eventually able to report the work accumulated. Every request so far since then has resulted in "Couldn't connect to server"
And looking at the network traffic inbound, i'm not the only one having problems.

About the same here....
It's been a while since contacting the scheduler was such a problem. Connecting and being able to report completed work is one thing, even if the response was 'no tasks available'.
Not being able to contact the scheduler at all is a different set of problems, I believe. And the outage today apparently did nothing to correct that.

Something is not setup or working correctly.

3 days with the same answer, can´t contact the scheduler, no report/UL/Dl anything.

Ping & tracert to scheduler are Ok, so the problem is in the scheduler itself.

Switching down some hosts they are running empty anyway.

Agreed....

I ended up button-mashing the update button a little while ago and finally got through to the scheduler after ~10 attempts. Then thought I had to button-mash the retry button to get some DLs to go since they had over an hour of duration but only ~15% done.

Tried some proxies, none of them worked very well..if at all. Went back to no proxy and tried again, and they move along for the most part. They'll stall every once in a while, but doesn't require too much babysitting.

Just takes a little while to DL an AP at about 4.5KB/sec is all.

It seems we're all having the same fun ... it really gets boring in the end ... So the "good backup project" is getting tons of work to do now. I'm really tired of fiddling with proxies, retries, failures to this and that, etc ... one day I hope to see to good ole fast SETI@HOME back again. Despite all donation efforts from the last few months, all the problems remain ... too bad. Greez to all fellow crunchers out there, suffering from work starvation ;)

I suppose it's a question of scale, I run one medium cruncher here on SETI@Home 6851722 And 5 medium to slow on Seti Beta, yet have not had any problems keeping my modest caches filled.

I don't babysit my machines very much. 6851772 has download it's maximum tasks today without any help from me.

So from my perspective there are no problems!!

Super crunchers like Juan's will go through their cache of work quickly compared to medium machines. Even the modest rigs that I run are all dry. Btw, does anyone have an idea what is going on in seti labs and when we can expect the work flow to resume? No update to be seen anywhere regarding the situation .

3rd day without anything from SETI.
I can’t understand how a few guys manage to have 200 tasks now.
At my account I see 127 wu’s in progress but there is nothing at the host.
Milkyway is very happy now.

Thats exactly the problem, the comunication problem is worst as far your are from the lab, internet link "distances/speed" of course, so if your ISP have a fast connection with HE you work fine, for the rest of us nothing is working, this is why the proxy solution works most of the time, but the proxy admin allways kick us out due the large amount of BW we use.

All request still ends on error at my side.

I cant use any proxies as they are all blocked by the ISP here. So I just need more patience till the issue gets resolved.
