The only way is to disable the Screensaver so no graphics is used. The Graphic is only rendered when richt clicking on the WU! BOINC Doc | Team-Site | BOINC-Podcast |

Shouldnt I have 4.5 hours per workunit with boinc when I never look at the graphics? I have screensaver off, and I dont look at the graphics. |

Set it to either blank or default (depends on the OS). BOINC WIKI |

Set it to either blank or default > (depends on the OS). > I read somewhere that S@H classic uses CPU to create graphics even when the user chose not to display it, and that's why most prefer command-line. So my question was, is that true for BONIC too? When I use BONIC, my average CPU time for each WU has decreased to 7 hours from 10-11 hours, so I believe that BONIC functions more like the command-line than S@H. However, I set the max CPU used for graphics to .000001% (a negligible amount; "0%" doesn't work for some reason, the graphics continue anyways). |

The max % for graphics only does anything if graphics are actually being displayed. BOINC WIKI |

Yes in Windows go to your desk top. Right click the desktop. Select Properties, at the bottom of the list, select the Screen Saver tab. In the list you can see BOINIC as the screensaver. select any other screensaver or (None). BOINIC will continue to run in the background even if the screen saver isn't running. |

If you go the the hardware manager, can you see a question mark on your graphic card or some info telling you there is a problem with it? If you are in the hardware manager and double click on your graphic adaptor, you should be able to see the hardware status of it. Any indication that it is working OK or not? |
