Hi peeps here the thing when i overcloak my GTX 460 all the GPU work finish in just around 7 - 10 seconds without error just simple finish and makes inconclusive results after is sended, but soon i put back to normal settings and restart SETI the GPU work units starts to work normaly, so i wonder why it does that when i overcloak the GTX 460 card that starts to happen? any 1 else as problems with that when overcloak the card?

Those tasks all ended with a high Pulse count, too high to be normal. Which is why they're invalid.

Well apparently if i understood well overclocked might not work as i thought it would, but eitehr way i think would not make much difference anyway.

I found my GTX460 to be very sensitive to temperature when overclocked, so I gave up trying to find the sweetspot and have left it at stock clocking. At stock speeds it is unaffected by temperature until it get to really very hight temperatures, when it shuts down without throwing errors.

I found my GTX460 to be very sensitive to temperature when overclocked, so I gave up trying to find the sweetspot and have left it at stock clocking. At stock speeds it is unaffected by temperature until it get to really very hight temperatures, when it shuts down without throwing errors. So far i do not have any problems with it regarding the temperatures or crashes, none at all here exemple my card overcloaked: Normal settings no overcloaked: Again its almost in the limit, but i can go abit more higher, and so far as i said never had problems :) The only thing is when i or when i did use in seti the overcloaked settings all GPU would finish as i stated in first post for exemple normaly seti reads this: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 460 (driver version 306.23, CUDA version 5.0, compute capability 2.1, 768MB, 8381092MB available, 941 GFLOPS peak) when i overcloak will read 05/10/2012 12:20:27 | | NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 460 (driver version 306.23, CUDA version 5.0, compute capability 2.1, 768MB, 8381092MB available, 1140 GFLOPS peak) thatss when all GPU work finish in just few seconds :)[/img] ____________ Click Here To Join Our Team Seti X-Files Team Seti X-Files Members

What everyone is saying, that may be fine for playing games where u might miss a pixel here or there, but when u are talking about exact numbers and miss one the whole tasks is invalid. I was trying to overclock many, many times, and almost everytime I do, I get an error. The temps could spike for maybe a milliseconds and u will never record it, but the error is there and u are left with an invalid tasks. That is just my experience with overclocking.
