Those tasks all ended with a high Pulse count, too high to be normal. Which is why they're invalid.

They also didn't run to completion in the normal way, but ended with "SETI@Home Informational message -9 result_overflow" which is an error. Under normal circumstances when you get such an overflow error, your wingman will get it as well as it's a problem with the task. Thus everyone will be paid a minute bit of credit.

In this case though, your spike value is grossly overrated, thus there's something not fishy, thus your task when compared to two new tasks will be validated as invalid. Which means that you either overclocked your GPU too high, or you overclocked the wrong part of the GPU (e.g. GPU clock instead of memory speed). In any case, it's a problem with your hardware.

Overclocking for games is all nice and good, it will speed up the frames per second that the GPU is capable of throwing at you and it can do so with one or more pixels not rendering completely correct. However, when you do this with GPGPU calculations, it DOES matter if all calculations are correct.

Well apparently if i understood well overclocked might not work as i thought it would, but eitehr way i think would not make much difference anyway.
Thanks for the reply Ageless :)

I found my GTX460 to be very sensitive to temperature when overclocked, so I gave up trying to find the sweetspot and have left it at stock clocking. At stock speeds it is unaffected by temperature until it get to really very hight temperatures, when it shuts down without throwing errors.

So far i do not have any problems with it regarding the temperatures or crashes, none at all here exemple my card overcloaked:

Normal settings no overcloaked:

Again its almost in the limit, but i can go abit more higher, and so far as i said never had problems :)
The only thing is when i or when i did use in seti the overcloaked settings all GPU would finish as i stated in first post for exemple normaly seti reads this: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 460 (driver version 306.23, CUDA version 5.0, compute capability 2.1, 768MB, 8381092MB available, 941 GFLOPS peak) when i overcloak will read 05/10/2012 12:20:27 | | NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX 460 (driver version 306.23, CUDA version 5.0, compute capability 2.1, 768MB, 8381092MB available, 1140 GFLOPS peak) thatss when all GPU work finish in just few seconds :)[/img]

What everyone is saying, that may be fine for playing games where u might miss a pixel here or there, but when u are talking about exact numbers and miss one the whole tasks is invalid. I was trying to overclock many, many times, and almost everytime I do, I get an error. The temps could spike for maybe a milliseconds and u will never record it, but the error is there and u are left with an invalid tasks. That is just my experience with overclocking.

Also, that with all fans running at 100%, it doesn't matter much, overclocking works well for other stuff, but Boinc usually does not like it and kicks it to the curb.
