Most of us now have the latest and greatest phone (Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, ect...), Is there any plans on making an app for our phone? |

yes there are boinc apps for smart phones. Just to be clear smart phones are made to minimize energy use. BOINC, and the projects that run on BOINC are made to maximize power usage. I think you see the dilemma here. Do you want your charge to last the maximum time or do you want to keep your mobile device plugged in constantly. The second problem lies in the CPU for smart phones. There usually isn't an FPU math coprocessor onboard which is great at keeping energy use down to a minimum. Horrible if you are crunching numbers like the demands of pretty much any work crunched using BOINC In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

And with that said, go to https://github.com/matszpk/native-boinc-for-android/wiki/News for BOINC for Android. See http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/arm.py for which projects might be able to run on ARM devices, and on which phones this has been tested. The best thing to run on the Android phones is the NCI or Non-CPU-Intensive applications. Otherwise be prepared to empty your battery in an instant. |

yes there are boinc apps for smart phones. Using any such Projects/Tasks on The Highest Quality Phone would be like Running The Highest Energy Rating Game 24/7. Can you imagine how many batteries you'd need in your pocket. Also, your Data Usage would Skyrocket. Then you have to consider The Reception Dropouts. Forget It. GALAXY-VOYAGER |

Most of us now have the latest and greatest phone (Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, ect...), I think "most of us" might be a bit of an exaggeration. I personally know several high RAC crunchers that don't even have smartphones. Myself I only have an iPhone 3GS |

I prefer to avoid the cellphone phenomenon as its seems to have created data/linked in/connected zombies everywhere I go In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
