EDIT: I can't get 41z to work. I'm sure I'm just doing something dumb, but I'm too tired to see it.

In 1.1 look in config.xml.
There is a data entry for the 41z commented out.

So add the extra <data> </data>.
This allows testing for both. You can select them in the dropbox.

On the 680 Vs 590 comparison I saw a while back. Not going to be a fair comparison via time alone, since it's one GPU using about a third or even a quarter of the power, so overall more efficient. Do the comparison with a 690 ;)
Jason

On power maybe, but Performance - price 590 - 690.

To run stand alone it needs work_unit.sah.
You can also check here: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\eFMer\SetiPerformance

In the slot folders should be work_unit.sah

Right. Slot folders 0,1,2,and 3 do contain work_unit.sah.

To run stand alone it needs work_unit.sah.

Can I get more specifics on "stand alone"? I am running from desktop. Do I need to run from a specific directory? _g works fine, _z doesn't.

Thanks.

Stand alone: Without BOINC starting it.

There is no specific folder you need to run the program in.

work_unit.sah has to be exact and no capitals.

Just to be sure I tested the x41z_64_cuda42

Give met what you put in config.xml, something must be wrong there.

<parameter> %device = device number %device replaced by 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
<showParameters> 1 = show field where you can put in additional parameters. This value is added to <parameter> in <data>. Make sure to add an additional space.
e.g. <parameter>%20--device%20%device and parameter field --test send to the application -> --device 0 --test

I basically just took out the comment to get the rest to run.

BTW, is this test system specific or does it give a general return for any/all cards?

I have some questions:
Can I use another WU for testing the performance?
Im thinking that if the system is slow feeding the GPU (or there is any other bottleneck other than the raw performance of the GPU), then the optimal number of concurrent WUs may be different if the WU takes more (or less) time to be crunched...
I guess that it should be enough just to replace the "work_unit.sah" with another WU (renamed as "work_unit.sah", I guess) or does the test a validation on the result and it will fail if I change the WU?

Any WU should do as long as it hat the name "work_unit.sah".
