Or if the vacuum cleaner is any good for that matter.

Yeah, a hoover vacuum from the sixties still works brilliantly (replaced the motor once so far). The dyson I had popped it's clogged's after half a year. Bits of plastic all over the place.

They made the "chassis" for lack of a better term out of metal! Aluminum mostly, what happens to that? If you dent it you just knock the dent out. Job done. The bulb goes, you just replace it. Nowadays you bang your vac into a table leg and bits of plastic go everywhere, and the vac is done for :(

Not the Kenmore I'm talking about, plastic case w/rubber bumpers.

They dont make things to last.
My kettle, yup boil the water tea pot job,
it is nearly twenty years old and i will not be able to use it much longer coz the plastic it is made of is powdering away.
Turning to dust.
Is it a vampire kettle in the light of dawn.
Or a cheep plastic job that i wont stop using coz the element still works.
Oh, by the way,
The `boiled` switch stoped working years ago :¬)

30 C now, 33 this afternoon. Yesterday I shut down the SUN WS, its fans whirring. Instead the HP laptop, with its AMD APU using only 18 W, seems to survive. Also, it hibernates often when I am not working on it.
