No such luck, that I think is where the periscope is mounted at, that's if it's still usable...

Yes, but the hatch is only a couple of feet away.

I think the hatch is still below the ice, as that sail looks pretty narrow.

They poke a hole in the ice to get some fresh air and get bear breath instead...

No such luck, that I think is where the periscope is mounted at, that's if it's still usable...

Sorry, guys, that is the rudder, with depth markings and the stern running light visible. The closest hatch is about 50 feet forward (towards the viewer).

The picture was taken from either the bridge cockpit or one of the periscopes.

edit] Now that I have my glasses on, I can see the cross-hairs, so it is a periscope pic.

Good call there, didn't even notice the crosshairs. I think the bear has bitten off more than He can chew.
