Texas Earthquakes

Yet another minor earthquake in Johnson County This is clearly a result of fracking where explosions are setoff in rock deep underground and then waste water is pushed into the rock to force out the methane(natural gas) from the rock.

Cleburne, in Johnson county, doesn't allow fracking anymore after they were hit with at least 6 minor earthquakes.

Texas has no none active fault zones. Apparently, Johnson County has a minor fault which became active after the Fracking began.

I recall reading many years ago about Denver Colorado having earthquakes back in the 60's. The Quakes were determined to been created when Denver began pumping waste water deep underground as a means of disposing of it.
Haven't we learned anything in the past 30 years about pumping water deep underground

I'm waiting for a Texas law that only allows fracking near Democrats <g>

since there aren't many in Texas, that would be a very limited law and decrease production 10 fold

And as to production -- Texas is one of those difficult to get abortion states -- so how would one limit the production of future Democrats?

Gary, I understand -- before the current Republican domination, there was the Democrat domination (from the 40's to the mid 60's). One thing of course that flipped matters -- the Johnson Civil Rights bill -- that, along with the Republican southern strategy, got all the old school states rights Democrats of the earlier period (including folks like Mansfield, Russell, Long, Byrd, etc.) to become Republicans (or die off).

The south will remain the preserve of the Republicans until demographics shift things.

When the Democrats gain power, they will gerrymander unto the Republicans as the Democrats have unto them.

Texas has the second worst schools in the country. Mississippi exists so Texas won't be last.

Remember a poorly educated parent tends to produce poorly educated children and so on. Texas prides itself with witty slogans that are easy for the poor white folks to remember. Like Right To Work State. Sounds good but it lowers wages. Not exactly what I call progress.

yep that map shows that Texas has virtually no seismic history. I think its unique that just north of the Texas border in Oklahoma is a minor mountain range that has about a 10X chance of getting shaken

very much. a confused person and a religious zealot would fit right in here. Heck, they wouldn't be a blip on the radar. Though being a Protestant religious zealot would be more appropriate for Texas
