I should have know better, but I will take that beer next time I'm near. Carlos, Dont you just love how us, Your SETI@HOME freinds just take a little bit of leeway and turn it into a train wreck. I once saw a thread called off topic, And everyone posted non stopic, Carlo's said it is clear, As he cried in his beer, This poetry is quite catastrophic. [/quote] Old James |

Logic conundrum A topic for off topic is declared. How many Setizens does it take to beat the drum and make the off-topic not to the topic declared.... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

That woman! Hijacks the thread and then leaves us wanting More. Hi there Uli, here I am, you say you want more rhyme? I'll type a little verse for you, but I don't have much time. I don't intend to hijack, raid, extort or charge high fees I only want to play around, cuz I'm a poetry tease!!! |

Hi Uli & Ang my dears I am quite over-do, dear friend, to make another batch Once I start one then it takes a couple months to hatch I always say I'm gonna start, but my brain's like a sieve And on the weekends seems I simply lack initiative. But next time you come visit, before we all shout "BRIDGE!!!!!" That homemade limoncello will be chilling in the fridge. |

9 Days! no posts! Wow, everyone must be staying on topic. I just got done un-screwing a windows update. Why, how, what the heck, why oh why would Microsoft Update remove AMD Catalyst drivers? WHY!? I had to manually hunt down the catalyst drivers for the wifeys laptop, and install them, thanks to an update which reverted the video to a generic driver... And while I was doing this, trying to drag and drop files into ANY folder yielded "error, destination directory does not exist"!!!! I'm so unbelievably stressed and amazed at how terribly that whole mess just went. Thanks Windoze, keep this up and I won't even use the licenses that come included with what I buy. Slowly but surely I will be putting linux on a few more machines around here... #resist |

Why? Why not - they did to Nvidia a few weeks back, so why not AMD this time around? Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Why? Yesterday I was just commenting on how I haven't had any issues with the recent windows updates... Well, you know it was only fair that they had to get me too. I'm just glad some driver changes and reboots fixed it. :-) #resist |

This may just be my last boot into a windows environment... Dave I am running windows 8 beta on my gaming (main compy) and windows 7 (well and server 2008) on my project computer and have had minimal problems. Just me, but it seems to be more stable after the vista days. I can't even remember the last time I have received a blue screen of death. -"Young" James "To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. My windows machine cannot burn a usable Linux Mint cd. :-( And trying to use a command line server to burn a dvd, has been a bigger task than I have time for today. So, perhaps tonight I'll get somewhere. (maybe I should just go buy some dvd-rw's instead of fighting with the +rw's I currently use) #resist |
