Hitler was a Fascist.

Barry is a Socialist.

Bottom line.

bottom line is Obama is a moderate democrat. Period.

I know this is far to the left of the crew of faux news.. but it is far to the right of a large percentage of the country.

"
Godwin's Law

A term that originated on Usenet, Godwin's Law states that as an online argument grows longer and more heated, it becomes increasingly likely that somebody will bring up Adolf Hitler or the Nazis. When such an event occurs, the person guilty of invoking Godwin's Law has effectively forfieted the argument. "

Thanks ID -- considering the source, it is something of a complement. Hey, at least you spelled this post correctly. <grin>

Indeed -- work on the definitions a bit and you might have a clue here.

Calling Obama a socialist seems, more often than not, a way for someone to call out Obama for being an uppity educated powerful black man, but not using the term that one really wants to.

I wonder if one did a gender/race analysis on those who call Obama a socialist, just what we'd find.

If it sounds like a Socialist and looks like a Socialist and smells like a Socialist, it must be a Socialist.

Obama, among other things, is a Socialist.
With a very devious agenda.
Vote wisely.

I call Obama a Socialist because he seems to wanna tax me to death and yet among other things does nothing about the illegal immigrant problem, who his government seems all too willing to dole out to (bums typically vote dem because they support their sorry arses). And the same for Obummbercare, the costs of which are now predicted by his own GOA to almost triple what he gave when stumping for it's passage.

Take from the even not so rich, and give to the poor.
Yup, he's in da hood. Da robbin' hood.

The only increased taxes that Obama has proposed (he's not gotten any of them) approach those 'really high' taxes of the Clinton era -- but even then it is only on those making a LOT of money. Frankly, you don't sound like one of the >$1M a year folks -- too bitter here.

Sounds more like you call Obama a socialist because some voices have told you it is so.

Then again, ID has called Romney a socialist (you haven't yet) -- but ID calls anyone to the left of his 'ideology + religious views' a socialist. Wonder what he calls someone to his right -- oh never mind -- they don't exist.

Among my inner voices, which you allude to, and I don't usually post online.........
Simple fact is Obama is a failing president.
He needs to go before he f's things up even worse.
I know these things take a year or two to take hold, but he has had more than that..

I could post more diatribes against him, but......

Ok, here is another.

What do you answer to this?

Not just tabloid crap, this has been verified.

I would not mind a more liberal than Obama president myself!!

After about 4 more years, I would love to see Michelle Obama for president.
This country is FINALLY moving in the right direction again.

It is funny though.. only the far right considers him "King" Obama.
I am a bit disgruntled that he has not accomplished what he set out to do
but Bohner and the tea party have seen to that. It really is a shame to see
them continue to trash this country much the way Dubya did.

how can he accomplish anything he set out to do. The neocon tea party has promised a down vote on anything he proposes. Seems odd that Boehner wants bipartisanship as long as its his way. The last I checked that is the my way or the highway rule and works poorly for the minority party

Mark.. about half the country disagrees on HOW to fix things. That makes them no less american than you. Just some fundamental disagreements on HOW. Not if it should be done. Only the extreme right at this point(much like the extreme left in the 1960's) wants to tear everything down.

And about half the country is pretty much in alignment with what Obama is trying to do. Not so much what he has accomplished, plenty are disappointed in that.. but few blame that all on him.

It takes compromise to run a government and a civilization. And I get really tired of the chicken little routine. The sky is not falling. And if it was shooting missles at it would not help.

MS -- I will agree that the last two presidents have not been successful. I'd also submit that the result of the coming election is likely to continue in this trend regardless of the 'winner'.

I suppose in the histrionic terms that too many folks appear to be in love with, it might be seen by those histrionic types as a choice between a fascist and a socialist and both will fail.

Now if reality intrudes (and I see precious little of that showing up in much of the discussions here), one will realize that either possible winner is going to be seriously hamstrung in getting anything (let alone their agenda) done. Our existing political process is well paid to sustain paralysis.

The country will continue to muddle along.

Soft, clearly half the country are socialists, and the other half are fascists, and all of us are crazy.

We clearly need to infuse the water with some reality agent. <smile>

President Obama is not a socialist. In fact, he's further to the right politically than the extremist righties in power here in Canada at the moment.

The Dems and the Repubs are both rooted in the same corporately controlled ideology.
If Obama were a socialist, you'd have Universal Single Payer health care and not the same old for profit corporate driven crap you've had to endure for so long. All Obama did was force the poorer citizens in the US to pony up for coverage they were opting out of before.
That's no socialism, that's corporatism.

Once again, your wrong or you are woefully deficient of anything remotely called a fact on purpose. What would you call raising the debt ceiling? Thats a tax, no two ways about it. He has trippled the deficit in 3 years. Between the burning bush and barry your dollar is now worth about 57 cents. And that reason alone is why you see 3 dollar and above in fuel prices. And higher food prices. Your dollar is worth less and will soon be worthless. As I pointed out, you had better not forget Germany inbetween world wars.

Romney is a socialist, it's in the health care system he left behind in his state that they cannot pay for. Fine if they don't beg money off the federal government--wait--they have gone begging the federal government.

No, I do not call everyone to my left socialist, mostly people like you are. You want to take from me and give to another. Many blue dogs in my state.

No, I do have many to my right, they are called Fascist. They like Hitler want government control over the war machine.

Im a Constitutionalist/Statesman.

Hitler was a Fascist.

Barry is a Socialist.

Bottom line, my definition is correct and you are wrong or you are woefully deficient of anything remotely called a fact on purpose.

Understanding political ideologies appears to be a very hard subject for some of you. Shall we start at the beginning? Oh, sorry--just did that for you all...

ID -- as I've noted before -- being wrong in your view is something of a badge of honor.

I'd call raising the debt ceiling a case of honoring existing pledges. You might note that the Teapublican Ryan budget would require significant additional raising of the debt ceiling. That is, I suspect from your view, an inconvenient truth.

The economic preconditions which insured a massive debt rise were in place prior to Obama taking office.

I do realize that you advocate a taking from the poor (and making more poor) and giving to the very rich. It is an interesting (if non-Christian) approach.

Guy -- you may be quite right here -- the lack of fiscal discipline in Congress and the Executive does mirror the 'something for nothing' attitude of the American people. Over ten 10 years back after 9/11 -- I think Bush and the politicians blew it when they chose to fund war via debt -- I really think they could have tapped into a communal willingness to sacrifice as well. Bush exhortation to 'go out and shop' was one of the harbingers of Federal debt mentality.

The American people WANT more government spending and the American people are going to GET more government spending!

Well, here is your sticker for standing up for yourself...

I'll once again tell you that I DO NOT BELONG TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. Im sure that is an inconvenient truth for you since you keep trying to blame me for the stupid republicans spending.

Once again you do not even remotely have a truth to offer and in it's place hand off a strawman argument of the poor. I latch onto Adam Smith's ideas that EVERYONE acts in their own self-interests, even the poor. I'll also point out to you because you seem to be ignorant of facts here that Christ did not tell us to give to the government so the government could take care of the poor. Christ told us to take care of the poor ourselves without the help of anyone else or a middleman. Being a Jewish person I can understand your ignorance of Christ. But now that I have told you this more then once you cannot use the ignorance as an excuse. Adam Smith knew that the RICH hire the poor to work. Adam Smith knew that if a RICH man underpaid the poor man would find other work that paid more and leave the skinflint to whither on the vine.

The economic preconditions which insured a massive debt rise were in place in 1913 with Wilson the first socialist President, barry is just closely following in his footsteps. As I have said here, the Revolutionary War debt was paid off during the Andrew Jackson administration.
