I gave that computer to my sister the other day. I have in use thing set to one minute. I canceled that task because it wasn't doing anything. What do I have to do to get another task? The easiest - you can tell her to uninstall BOINC What do I have to do to get another task? Try to set: "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least 3 days" And set BOINC to "Run Always" Is something set as "Suspended"/"Snooze"/"Won't get new tasks"? The second is not true as you can check by any benchmarking program or just by 'feel' - no slowdown of other programs as the computing apps run at lowest possible priority (lower than screensavers)   - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)   ID: 1215970 ·

BOINC automatically runs all science apps at the lowest priority supported by the Operating System so that it does not interfere with any apps that take higher priority. Most apps you use will be of a higher priority and thus should not experience any slowdown. ID: 1215972 ·
