And to finish this off, I'll add a mini whine: All I can tell ya is the r557 SSE2 v6 app is running very nicely on my top rig. No need for you to wait for MB v7. ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

And to finish this off, I'll add a mini whine: I do run r555 on my Celeron speed demon, but I will not install anything on my other machines until there is a release from Lunatics which includes opt MB V7. It's not because I can't do it Mark, it's just that I'm a stubborn Swede who doesn't want to do it twice (first the 0.40 install with the AP 6 CPU and ATI, and then a new installation with MB7 when that is released). I can wait.......And if I have to wait more than 6 months, I can also change my mind. LOL ____________ /The grumpy old Swede. And to finish this off, I'll add a mini whine: LOL...OK, that's fine. Just wanted to be sure you knew that the v6 app is ready now, and it is not mutually exclusive of MB 7. As you wish...... ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

OK, who greased the pipe?? I checked a few minutes ago and had a bunch of downloads in backoff. Hit retry and they flew down the pipe at the fastest speed I've ever seen. All of them came down at over 100.KBS

All of them came down at over 100.KBS Same here, downloads at around 100kB/s. Amazing the difference no AP work makes to the network pipes, and every other MB WU isn't a shorty. ____________ Grant Darwin NT.

Well, if you look at the Cricket graphs, you will see that bandwidth usage is dropping. Which probably means that most caches are finally full up to the current limits, and work that is issued should download fairly well.

Whew, something or someone really opened the flood gates the later part of this afternoon. I had one download say 127k, but it went back down to 10 right away. Then gradually it has built and built until I had three downloads coming in at once and all of them at 70 or 80k to start. Just a few minutes ago, one hit around 327k for its brief second of activity. This is what happens sometimes with GPU Grid, but never on SETI for me.

Average download rate -- 99.3 KB/sec!! Enjoy it while it lasts. Download traffic continues to drop. Even uploads are dropping off. Won't be long & it'll all come to a complete halt. ____________ Grant Darwin NT.

Yes things really do speed up when there are no AP's screwing the pipeline up. ;)

Same here they either fail after 4 or 5 seconds or run at hundreds of Kb/sec. To me it looks like about 80 to 90% fail and it's the TCP Connect SYNs that are failing. 06/04/2012 11:24:27 | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed: got 48 new tasks 06/04/2012 11:50:42 | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed: got 10 new tasks Note: The times are UTC+1 and I force the 208.68.240.13 boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu in my hosts file.

As usual, going through a proxy solved my download problems. Direct connection is a huge FAIL now, as many have pointed out here.
