I saw it, and read the message, but a good reminder thread. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Does anyone know if the BOINC servers will also be down ? I couldn't see anything on their website, but I think they are also located in the same building. BTW the outage will be from 16:00 UTC to 18:00 UTC for those who are not aware of the difference between Pacific Time and their local TimeZone. |

Does anyone know if the BOINC servers will also be down ? Yes, Jord posted in News on Project Outages: The whole BOINC domain will be out for the duration of that time as well; 8.00am - 10.00am Californian time is 16.00-18.00 UTC. From the way he posted, I think he must have checked directly with BOINC staff before posting. |

Thanks Richard, I looked on BOINC front page and News forum, but hadn't thought to look at the Projects forum. |

So is there a pool on how long the 2 hour outage lasts? <smile> |

We in the San Francisco Bay area had a moderate earthquake this morning (05:33AM PST = 13:33 UTC), magnitude ~ 4.3, epicenter 2-4 miles north of Berzerkely. Hopefully those doing the electrical outage checks (outage scheduled to start about an hour from now) will see if the quake rattled anything loose at the Lab- unlikely any ill effects since S@H website is running just fine ATM. On the other hand, I would not be shocked (no pun intended) if the tests were postponed due to the electrician's services being needed for repairs elsewhere. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I guess the buy-in would have been about 4.3. Which curiously is fairly close to the actual length of the outage. So is there a pool on how long the 2 hour outage lasts? <smile>How much is the buy-in? <BFEG> |
