They ARE out there, SETI@home will find find them.
I run Lunatics (Raistmer and others) optimized S@H package which is derived from Alex Kan's v8 MultiBeam client and has V6 AstroPulse client both optimized for SSE4.1 on my Intel C2D E8400 3.0GHz CPU. I also use Lunatics' optimized CUDA app to crunch multiple MB WUs on my 580GTX/ 1536MB video card, and on my newest PC's beastly water-cooled GTX 1080Ti/ 11GB video card and Quad Core Intel i7-3777K (Overclocked to 4.2GHz). AKv8-based Optimized MB CPU client app is twice as fast as official Enhanced v6.03, and CUDA on 580GTX and GTX680 GPUs crunch 2 MultiBeam WUs simultaneously about 8X quicker than either CPU.
