Obo0's

His name is Barack h. Obama. His predecessor's name was George W. Bush, not Dubya.

When did you ever make such a comment to any poster who used the pejorative name "Dubya"?

At the very least, on Posted: 20 Feb 2012 | 17:24:18 UTC.

My point exactly. That is, by my recollection, the only time. There were lots of posters here who called GWB by that name and worse during his tenure. Isn't it a little disingenuous to point it out only now when someone uses a less-than-flattering term for President Obama?

If you care to look through all my posts, you MIGHT find a VERY small portion of my posts being about GWB, and a VERY VERY small portion may have me referring to him by the southernization of the letter W (his middle initial).

If I ever did it, it was in EXTREME frustration. This is opposed to the people that were frustrated before Obama even took the bumbled oath of office. :)

(With a first name beginning with W as well, a cousin recently referred to me as "Dubya". Do you think I was super-offended? Nope. Just mildly annoyed.)

Perjoratyive? Yes. Really really perjorative? Super perjorative? I do not think so.
On the other hand, if we knock the beginning O off of oBoo, what do we get? I wonder what the source of this nickname is.

Disengenuous? Since you seem to think that I think alike with those you have known me to associate, I have long suspected you have dumped me in the liberal bin, when I have repeatedly pointed out I am an independent. My votes in presidential elections have been equally split. However, it is not your business to know who I voted for (and in the case of re-elections or failed earlier runs) when.

Even people that vote for someone can become disappointed with them. When considering that Reagan was accused of being the antiChrist for having six letters in each of his names, I think a southernization of the letter W is pretty tame.

I remind you of your "Religious Threads" of years back. Threads where you and I first "met" and walked on common ground. I remind you of Chuck. I remind you of when I finally blew my lid with him. (Recall that you were amazed how much patience I showed with him, above all others. Refer back to this post: "If I ever did it, it was in EXTREME frustration.") Even after my post where I called him out (made public again by the shenanigans of a friend of yours, but at least I have the honesty to admit I made the post and parts of it and nearby posts went too far to way too far), I still defended his right to question. And he and I shared a few cordial PMs before my unplanned S@H absence. I also found one from him, cordial as well, waiting for me upon my return. (Note: I was one of the last, or last, to accept the offer to return.)

So ... disingenuous ... . If I can have my disagreements with Chuck, and finally blow my lid with him, but then speak to him cordially and STILL, after all that, defend his right to be an atheist, no, I do not think I am being disingenuous.

Furthermore, I said, "at the least" in my previous response to you.
Added to that, you know nothing of whether I have made similar statements offline in face-to-face discussions, or when I started speaking that way.

P.S.-when the poster who currently refers to himself as Dullnando refers to Obama as "OBlahBlahBlah", that's kind of funny, and when you take the first letter off, there's no question as to what is meant and what the source of thie nickname may be.
P.P.S-I have offline and on these message boards made fun of Obama for how his suit jacket cuff buttons clatter on the podium every time his hands bounce up and down as he makes a point. It's an annoying sound.

My dear friend Dull, who likes to call it academe(nt)ia ... let me 'splain to you.

Is it a bit Blurry for you? I'm in academia because I worked my butt off for it, pulled myself up 2 inches by my bootstraps, and am proud of it. So suck on that. 'Splain again to me?

Come on Sarge, his dullness lacks a sense of humor -- other than his own of course, which is, pretty much in accordance with his various noms de plume.

Well, Dullnando, you *do* say some things that make me wonder sometimes.

But I also see you as someone who has given up on trying to save the country, like me, the day I found out Oblahblahblah was announced the *winner* of the last big high school football game, also known as the presidential election.

After Shrub said the taxpayer needed to give all those Wall Street bankers a boatload of money just short of his retirement, I was shocked at first. But after thinking about it for a while, I concluded he can't be that stupid and that he must be thinking ahead, and getting ahead of the stategies and tactics used by the liberals since, I don't know when...Woodrow Wilson? FDR? LBJ? and going ahead and putting a big mess in the hands of the liberals so they finally take the full blame for it. But now I just think that he, too, didn't have the cahones to fight the machine and all he wanted was a way out that didn't place blame on him.

Last football game, as soon as I found out I did not have a say in who was going to be the next republican nominee, I fell prey to the "lets vote for the one most likely to succeed, despite whether you believe what he says or not" campagn. So, I did as I was told like a good republican soldier boy. Afterwards, I felt not only betrayed, but I felt like I had been used and discarded like a used paper towel.

Since the liberal agenda has successfully infiltrated the republican party (as demonstrated by the three master-debators left master-debating to each other almost weekly in a cirlce these days, I too have given up and will probably make sure I'm not taken advantage of again this next big football game by making sure my vote does not count again this go-round.

I've lost my voter efficacy.

I will continue to vote at all other levels of government, but I don't see a point in voting at the federal level any more. Doesn't matter who our next president is. Might as well be Oblahblahblah. Eventually, local elections won’t matter any more either.

As a federal employee for almost 30 years, and now seeing first hand what the Department of Education is dishing out, and filtering down through my local school board (another political entity), and seeing/feeling/experiencing/living the effects of political correctness, along with leaders who say one thing and do another, I think I've finally been pushed over the edge.

This country deserves what's coming. I'm sure our friends over in the Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and probably some silent lurkers from other countries who've experienced hyperinflation in the recent past are just rolling their eyes and chuckling as they watch what's happening over here and reading the hopeful things being said in here.

No need to Wonder about a Girlyman wearing Lederhosen. Ah, remembrance of Days In Frankfurt, skipping around The Maypole. Guten Zeiten. Led me later To Hard Core Leather and Harleys. Love that Iron 883. Simple, Powerful and The Real Girls Love it. Hoochie Momma.

All Wondering should be left for Wondering about The Wunderkind In The White House and Wunderkind To Be.

Actually, that's for The Academentia of Dem/LibVille to Wonder About. I hear The Next Peace Prize Potus Wundekind Speechifying Event will be 142,000+++++ words in length. And all the words will be Jobs Jobs Jobs. Even The Brain Dead will Need Not Wonder after Being Stupefied by The Tongue Wand of OBlechBlechBlechMA.

Oh Man 'O Live. Dullanando is ON FIRE!

Ya. That's what wrong. Not enough athiests teaching our youngun's that Oblahblahblah is nothing more than a random role of the dice in which he hit the jackpot and won the lottery naming him the supreme ruler of the universe and will save us from evil corporations.

Absolutely not. I had a positive outlook. I played by the rules and achieved one goal after another. I saw others who broke the rules and did not succeed. A few years ago, right before Oh Blah Dee was sworn in, I made it to where I want to be in life. By global standards, I'm doing extremely well. By our national standards, I'm doing fairly well. By my standards, I have *just* enough. Now I see more and more people who see the writing on the wall and I see them panicking. I see politicians at all levels grabbing more and more of everything they can right now. I see more and more people who look at what I have and think that I cheated to get here.

And I fear I'm going to wake up one day, realize I've been screwed and be called a fool for following all the rules.

And like a rape victim, I just want to hurry up and get through what's coming so I can get on with my life.

And when I see comments like skil's about the "department of edumacation," I consider that an uninformed, narrow and extreme point of view, so I feel obliged to respond in kind.
