This morning when I checked his account he only had three, so a duplicate has been added since. Lets see if it grows.

Dec 1 2004
I have just checked my work units and I have found that one that is pending belongs to mikey2345. This work unit on his list of compiter ID: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=383243 .
Which is 203 out of a total 4538. If you have any way of checking his downloads it would be appreciated. Since every download seems to create a unique PC ID for one of his machines.

The information below is about the PC in question

Someone from the project needs to address this. I didn't count them, but he has several hundred hosts again with zero credit.

I just checked Mikey's account and all the WU's have disappeared
and one WU downloaded today. Also it shows his account was created
today. If Berkeley could explain this problem it would be appreciated...

Timmy,

You were only looking at one computer in Mikey2345's account. That one computer was created today and has only one WU in progress. He still has many other computers on his account, all downloading a variety of number of WU's. Almost all of them have timed out with no reply.

What can be so buggy that there can be so many of the same comp? I can not imagine that one would waste time by adding the same comp over and over again.
Hmm.

Menace????? Menace to what???? Or whom?????

This project has been running for years. Taking an extra month or two for a few hundred, or even a few thousand, work units is just not going to make any difference.

Menace might not be appropriate since this all may be an error and not intentional. However, given that each additional host adds to the total table size of the database, a few users like this could pose some significant issues.

OK now;
It's like this... I have several dual processor Macs on which I run SetiBoinc. I run SETI Control, to monitor/start Boinc, etc., especially since it's the only Graphical Interface for any Boinc Mac.
In Seti Control, there are as many as 4 CPU's to be monitored.
One of those Macs will, (in Seti Control) show work units processing on Processors 3 (2), and 4 (3)! Whenever that happens, I know that an illegal computer has been created on my account. I have to go in and Merge those computers, almost daily, since on that Mac, I do not leave it powered up and running 24/7.
I don't know why it does what it does??? I WOULD like to stop it!!!
If anyone knows how to stop it, lemme know and I'll take appropriate steps.
Thanks;

Boinc is version 4.13. It controls two seti programs that are version 4.02.
I suppose it could be seti Control, but I am running the same setup on two separate G4's with the problem only on the one. The G5's plug along fine.
Thanks for Trying;
