Message 1170624 - Posted: 13 Nov 2011, 0:09:26 UTC - in response to Message 1170620.

At the moment I'm crunching a T4T task, Boinc has been asking for astropulses for the past two/three days (ten day cache). Zilch in return, or as it's known: no tasks available :(

I got three yesterday, but other than that, it's been "no tasks available" and "Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home Enhanced."

I will try that shortly. I had Einstein set with a 0% resource share, but I had an app-info file in my Einstein folder. Something about it was not right, so when ever it did try to download an Einstein unit, I got:

11/12/2011 7:05:20 AM Einstein@Home Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
11/12/2011 7:05:20 AM Einstein@Home Requesting new tasks for GPU
11/12/2011 7:05:22 AM Einstein@Home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
11/12/2011 7:05:22 AM Einstein@Home Message from server: To get more Einstein@Home work, finish current work, stop BOINC, remove app_info.xml file, and restart.
11/12/2011 7:05:22 AM Einstein@Home Message from server: No work sent
11/12/2011 7:05:22 AM Einstein@Home Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a version of Gamma-ray pulsar search #1.
11/12/2011 7:05:22 AM Einstein@Home Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a version of Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo).

I think what happened is that the app_info file for Einstein is refrencing an older version of the Binary Radio Pulsar Search, although I checked everything throughly. I can't see how, but perhaps when Seti requests GPU work it is somehow tied to the Einstein requests. I removed the app_info file from the Einstein, and disabled work fetch. I will see if this has any affect on my Seti GPU requests, and then try disabling using the CPU as you suggested.

Steve

The 2 GPU apps that I have for Einstein are
einsteinbinary_BRP3_1.07_windows_intelx86__BRP3cuda32
einsteinbinary_BRP4_1.00_windows_intelx86__BRP3cuda32

I do not run with an app_info though.

Not a problem yet, but the MB assimilators don't appear to be doing anything. Their backlog continues to grow.

In around 5 hours, there will be yellow feathers in the bandwidth pool...

:-)

Well, If it`s just the yellow feathers and not the whole bird,
Look`s like someone had the little beasty for lunch :¬)

I'll be glad when that last channel of AP work is gone- downloads this weekend have been slower than a year of Sundays.

I'll be glad when the Shortie Storm is over, and i don't have to download 5 times as much MB work (for the same duration), that rather than Astropulse downloads is the bigger problem,

You may be about to get your wish. For the last 2 hours I have been downloading 50% shorties and 50% mid range MBs rather than the 100% shorties which were all that were available for the last 4-5 days.

Awaiting download and cache are gradually increasing, I am now two thirds of the way towards the limit instead of getting them hopefully just in time.

At one point it was getting that bad that I was getting ready to transfer VLAR's to GPU's.

I'm glad someone is getting work. My two machines have been starving for work ever since the outage. I have had to rely on Milkyway to keep them busy. What work I do get is in dribs and drabs, and it may take up three days to get a WU to completely d/l. Retry abuse is not helping matters any, just extending the wait time. Even machine recycle or DNS flushing is not helping. RAC has gone from 41k+ down to under 27k since 30 Oct.

MB Assimilator backlog continues to grow, and now WUs waiting for deletion is climbing rapidly.

All seems well on my front at least. APs are crunching in a predictable 83,000 (+/-500) seconds. DCF is almost stable (still needs to come down from ~27 hours to ~24. I request work once or twice a day and get an AP or two in response (takes a few requests though).

So I remember this was being discussed in some other thread 3-6 weeks ago, and my application details show that I have completed zero tasks, yet my consecutive valid is..well, not zero. I know there's something to put in the app_info that I do not have because it was not needed before..anyone care to mention what that one line is?

Ok, here we go again. Where's the AP's? I can not be expected to live like this, sober and without any drugs whatsoever, and on top of that healthy life style, not receive any new AP's.

I demand new AP's or I may fall into the trap of sex and drugs and Rock'n'roll.

Well as they say "3 out of 4 ain't bad" :) This must be a plot by someone to try and freeze you this winter.

Maybe this week they will get everything sorted and remove the limits. So all the hungry hungry machines can catch up.

I've got 119 AP's on my rigs, but I want more MORE, MORE I tell ya :-)

Letting it drop below 150 AP's, makes me nervous, very very nervous.

You can have My share of AP for a while, AP on the nvidia gpu just makes the 270+ drivers crash here, so I'll just stick to Seti, it's less stressful to Me.

Well, after waiting since Friday afternoon I finally picked up some astropulses last night. About five days worth, woo! Although it looks like I won't be able to top up my cache as I complete tasks :(
