Good system processes software Anyone know of any free software for monitoring the system processes on your machine? I'm running windows xp and i can use ctrl+alt+del and see my system processes running there, but its not great. I used to have other software that i could run and it gave me much more info about the processes running in the background on my machine. I can't remember what it was called though. Anyone any ideas where i can get something like that for free? John. |

I got it on cnet.com; http://download.cnet.com/Process-Explorer/3000-2094_4-10223605.html Funny, i'm sure it was someone here in this number crunching forum that originally suggested i use that software. Its very good! Anyway, i have what i was looking for, John. |

"Process Explorer" is probably what you've used to use. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653 Edit: a minute too late... |

Yep, only VISTA and Windows 7, have an 'extended Taskviewer' or Source Control, reachable through Task Manager. But Process Explorer, provides enough info about CPU; Memory; HDDs; LAN; and running, stopped, automatic and manual processes. Also SiSoft Sandra or "equivalents", is nice to get actuall info about your CPUs and GPUs performance in several cases. Also BenchMarks. |
