Seems we could be in the running for some bonus credits for Seti for the most new Goodsearch supporters...

Please see Eric's thread, and register if you have not.

Signed up yesterday - only $.04 so far, but I just changed options to display their toolbar so I can use it more often (even has the SETI LOGO!). Total so far for SETI is $151.97 with 697 signed up (one while I was posting this!)

There's also a list of top SETI supporters if that appeals to you. Try it folks!

Let's get on this bandwagon, folks.
A painless way to generate incremental funds for Seti, and it is working.

I have added 38 cents to the total of $176.68 since I started using Goodsearch a short while ago.
Painless, no cost to you, just use it for your web searches.

Eric's thread about Goodsearch.

It works.
Kitty approved fundraising for Seti.

Well what can i say

i have to pass on this goodsearch site since i can't stand yahoo search
i wonder if they do something similar using google?

http://services.google.com/googlegrants/application

this seems to come close to good search and might even give Seti@home more Publicity

should be worth a try since it s free but matt or somebody from teh project needs to sign up

also why not post ads on the header or footer of the seti page to generate some income . i use google ads on my page and it generates quiet a bit of revenue .
now imagine using google ads on the seti page with so much more ppl visiting
I came down with a bad case of i don't give a crap

Ad-supported pages are against University policy, and look very tacky to most people visiting.

I also block all of those ad sites within my router at home and my ISA server at work.
The goodsearch thing is nice as other can use it to contribute even if they don't wish to do anything else.

We have now raised $300.00 for Seti with Goodsearch...
Please continue if you are already using it, or consider doing your searches there if you are not already.

Easy money for our favorite project!!

Well, I raised $ 2.28 by two of my computers under win7 and I don't know how much by other computers under winXP. But frankly, I don't think then $300 is a considerable sum for our favorite project S@H...

Not by itself, of course.

But, when raised at no cost to us by simply using a search engine, it is $300.00 worth of free money for the project!

On a project that is always strapped for cash every dollar raised is important. I wouldn't be surprised if the $300 covered the cost of the additional memory in the router, so if we assume that then its another $300 that can be spent on staff wages, or other small consumables. Don't forget that the small consumables soon add up to big dollar sums.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from amazon and forgot to do it on the machine where I have my goodsearch account logged in so they would donate a %. :(
On the plus side I've racked up $2.00 in just searches so far!

Three hundred after only just over a month? Ker-ching! :) I'll be sticking with it, every penny helps and it's mounting up to a significant sum.

The total has more than doubled since the official announcement, that's excellent.

SETI@home was listed with Goodsearch in late 2008 and there was a total of ~$125 before the news announcement last month. That wasn't growing very fast...

The details for the total shows that they seem to have set this up in Nov. 2008.

Total: Year-to-Date $231.85
Total: Since Inception $304.16

Total: Last 2 months $180.35

So there has been a big upswing recently. Which can only be a good thing.
