Message 1143136 - Posted: 20 Aug 2011, 18:14:19 UTC

It has been a long time since I had a problem with the SETI@home project, but I just re-loaded Win #7 on a 64 bit quad core box. After reinstalling seti at home it says it knows that it is working for me, and it says it can see the seti server, but it won't down load work unites. There are no unites to be worked on.
Help!

As of four minutes ago the server status page showed 4 MB and zero AP work ready to send. Guess you'll just have to wait. (and no you can't have some of mine!! ) :-)

Thank you, I have two other boxes grinding away. I'll wait.
Next time I'll look at the server page first.

And even if there were work available, you might be screwed because of the router issue.

I haven't been able to contact SETI (according to the "Computers on this Account" button) since before 2200 on 22 August.

This sucks!

splitters are still down. No work to send and if you do get one its more likely to be a resend.

By screwing around with proxies per the HE thread(s), I am managing to upload my work (before it expires, thankfully), and even report. By the early afternoon here in Boston, I should be all caught up. So it sucks less, now.

But we could all use some new work, eh?

This one has been reported on 28 Aug 2011 | 16:04:53 UTC and is waiting for validation.

Are the others uploaded and ready to report or not uploading or not finishing?

Gruß,
Gundolf

It does not appear to have anything ready to go. Total credit has been stuck at 705,215.
It used to really pop along.

You only have one task on that machine that has been returned, and it is awaiting the wingman to report. It's just a -9 anyway, so you'll probably only get a fraction of a point.

Also, just like a brand new host, one that has been off or on other projects for awhile will take a few weeks to get a reasonable RAC figure.

Something that bothers me though, is that your computer has connected today (Sept 1), but still only has that single WU waiting for validation, even though several of your WU's are 5 days old. Are there other projects competing for CPU time? Are there any preferences set to keep the project from running?

What is the status of the tasks in the Tasks tab (waiting to run, ready to start...)? Are there any with status "running"?

There are thrtee tasks running, all three are at 11 to 12%. There is nothing pending, and there is a full complement of tasks waiting to go. I set the computer to run only at about 80% or so. Perhaps you may have nailed it on the head about me being a bit more willing to let the box run a few days to let it catch right up. Thanks all of you for your help.

There you go, the machine is now catching up in its own time.
