Its name is from Latin caulis (cabbage) and flower,[1] an acknowledgment of its unusual place among a family of food plants which normally produces only leafy greens for eating. Brassica oleracea also includes cabbage, brussels sprouts, kale, broccoli, and collard greens, though they are of different cultivar groups.

Wow, never read that much information about cauliflower before

Well, it seems then that it does come from the cabbage family of vegetables but I don't suppose though that it's high in iron content....you've got to have yur' iron you know. Cauliflower cheese is nice, when are you putting that
on your menu....Julie?

Well I have 2.5 cans of powdered eggs, sausage and pancake mix, margarine, plus lunch meat, mayo and mustard, peanut butter, preserves, but just 4 heels of bread for 3.5 days as I should have bought an extra loaf or two I know, I'd bought 8 to compensate for not buying veggies or patties just to cut down on the food bill, so I have 3.5 days to go until the next check gets here, So I wait. Please don't talk about food right now. I'm going to see if I have some tea made.

Winning after a very loooong weekend.
Attended/participated in the FRA West Coast Region convention in Santa Clara.
Friday afternoon to Sunday Morning - meetings, committees, luncheons and dinners, a little partying (any time you get a bunch of sailors, marines, and coasties in a room, you get a party), short nights.....

Takiing a day off from almost everything to recover.

Went to a party like that once. Went pretty well until I mentioned I had heard they had raised the height requirement to get into the CG. Something about if the boat sinks they can walk ashore. The Navy and Marines thought it was funny but....

Yeah, some are a bit sensitive about that. But the ones who served on the big Hamilton-class High-Endurance Cutters (WHEC - variations on the Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate, without the missiles) laugh just as hard at their in-shore brethren.

What I'm wondering is, with all the semi-submersibles the Coast Guard is confiscating from the drug runners, when are they going to start their own submarine service?

Until we get into the 800-850 range, we're just taking turns leading the pack.

Oh yes, it is lovely, but I've not had this for years though, something my Mother used to make when I was a kid. I like anything if it's got cheese with it.
When I go to the supermarket tomorrow I'm going to see if they have this in the deep freeze cabinets. If they do then I shall buy some and cook one up in the evening.

I'm not joking, do I have to lock the thread??? I'm hungry enough as It is, It's 84F and 60% humidity inside, It's 109F and 9% outside, If I cook anything, the temp in here will go up and It will not come down until almost Midnight... As this place has no working a/c and just a swamp cooler...
