Hi, long time user here, finally took the plunge and bought a CUDA ready vid card, it does one unit in 10mins! WOW to say the least.

I've installed the latest optimized app and forgot what SSE setting I should use?
I have an Intel Q6600, is the plain Intel SSE3 the best version or one of the others?

Please let me know which would do the most work?

Thank you

SSSE3 - triple S - is best on mine.

YMMV but often the SSSE3 application is a smudge quicker than the SSE3 application. The SSE4 application can be faster in some cases, but generally you need some really fast memory to take advantage of it.

Q6600s don't support SSE4 - just re-tested with CPU-Z

As I advise anybody to do before jumping to conclusions (or relying on memory) when installing an app.

Full marks to Alaskan for asking.

Because your hosts are hidden..
Because long time user, maybe old installer on PC?

Which Lunatics Installer you have?
Which grafic card you have?

You should use Lunatics Installer V0.37, in any case if you have a Fermi (GTX4xx-5xx) grafic card.

EDIT: BTW. And yes, SSSE3 (which is the max at this CPU) for your Q6600.

Thanks for pointing that out. I always forget about that. I keep thinking all the Core 2 processors support it since my E8400 does.

Is this the same as 3S?

In the old CPU-Z versions it was mentioned all: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1 .

Now, IIRC, in the newer CPU-Z versions it's mentioned: MMX, SSE 2,3,3S,4.1 (or something similar), which confuse unexperiences user.

Maybe the coder of this tool should go back to the old school..

Yes, IIRC, 3S is SSSE3.
