Just upgraded form 4.05 to 4.07 and so far it seems to be a damn sight faster than before, but, now the seti graphics have started moving again and no alteration to the prferences seems to be able to make them stop.

Before when i was running 4.05 i was able to alter the preferences to make the display look similar to the CLASSIC screensave but now it just doesn't seem to want to know.

Can anybody out there help me please?

If this has not been posted on the Windows Q&P board, I would do so. The devs do read that for bug reports. This would seem to be just that -- a bug report.

If you set it up with the preference settings I recommended, it should still work without moving. Mine does ...

Hi Paul,

I followed your recommended settings using v4.07 of S@H, but the graphs are still wobbling.

Best greetings.

Hi Paul,

Yours must be an exception, I have experienced the same problems and my settings show unchanged but the SS has a problem. I reset my SS settings and it updates just fine but does not show up at home puters. I am aware that there is a delay before changes take place. I don't use my saver except when I want to look at something pretty or am bored.

Keep Smiling

@ Paul
You are using a mac.
Chipz is using Windoz.
I'm using Windoz also and have the same problem.

I also have the same problem on a windows PC.
In fact it ignores all the screensaver preferences and uses the default theme.

Rom is investigating the graphics failures for the new sah app 4.07 for windows. I suspect that the problem lies in the front page news, in that the upgraded app includes the new graphics API changes which work fine for the core be tested in alpha {Boinc V4.5x}, but not the core being used in seti {Boinc V4.13}.

Ah, I did not think of that ...

@ farhmon,

Actually, I run one Macintosh (where I do work) and 5 Windows XP computers (well 6 now with my daughter's machine)...

As for the rest of it, you have to do an "Update" so that the BOINC Software contacts the project and downloads the updated/changed settings. When I cheecked here I am still working my way through the 4.05 WU I have downloaded. So, it looks to be a couple days before I will get going with 4.07 WU ...
