want to change name of thread I started. Any help will be appreciated cannot find an "edit" button

Make a post in the thread, submit it, then edit that post and you can edit the thread title. You can only do this on threads you started.

Of course, you can also click the red-x on the thread and ask that a moderator do it for you.
