Sad news for ATI GPU folks:

Posted on the home page of Dnetc:

The project will work to 31/01/2011 - lack of finances to maintain the server.
In the absence of contributions to the maintenance of the server, the project will work to 31.01.2011, until further notice. - OxyOne - 27 Jan 2011 | 17:40:19 UTC · Comment

Sucks to see it go. Is it a situation where once they get some donations they will start back up or is it down for good? Seems nobody cares about it if they weren't getting enough donations to keep the servers going. Feels like wasted time.

looks like the credit h00rs are going to have to look elsewhere for their excessively high credits

Which isn't exactly true and is also the case for MW or Collatz C., but if you run it on a CPU, you'll see why it is probably ported for ATI GPU, cause a MW WU on CPU, can take ~6 - 10 hours!
I started a while back, with MW on CPU and was amazed of the difference, between
running it on a CPU, instead of an ATI GPU!

But I've never seen DNETC, running on a CPU and I'm not that interrested
in finding a Encryption method or key.

But it's sad, a project has to stop, cause of lacking finance..........

wow, sad. I used to run dnetc on my macs a LONG time ago, like 10 years I guess. That was way before they released the boinc version. They used to pay money to whomever found the key, which I always thought was cool. I guess even distributed computing groups aren't immune to the poor economy.

Maybe we'll get a few of the ATI users over here now that Raistmer has released the ATI multibeam application. :)

According to posts on Collatz's forum, DNETC have found several donors and the project won't be shutting down,
