I tend to do go all out on a crunching frenzy, doing Astropulse, on my Atom N450 only ;-)

The T8100 has enough Einstein and CPDN work, so it won't be doing much Seti for a week on two,

The E8500/9800GTX+/HD5770 has enough CPU work, again Einstein and CPDN, the HD5770 will continue doing Collatz for now,
while I'll probably unleash the 9800GTX+ on Seti on Wednesday (assuming work starts flowing tuesday), and let it build up a small cache,

I imagine that the feeding frenzy will just create a bunch more ghost WUs, unless the Berkeley Boys institute some sort of throttling so the Internet link won't completely max out. Maybe only starting one or two splitters will keep things busy enough, but not totally saturate the link. I'll just keep NNT until things shake out a bit. Even then, I'll keep just a 1/2-day cache for a while.

There are several people at the ready with their machines; they have posted in various threads as such. Seems like a few optimists--including the frequently banned Mark--expect work creation to start today.

My machines go into radio silence during the day, so it will be late in the night before I get any work.

I'm cleaning my glasses, you can't be optimistic with a misty optic .....

Au contraire, Chris, it is only when the optic is suitably misted - *hic* - that some can be optimistic... Pass the malt, please.

I've just reinstalled BOINC/Lunatics on my rig, so I think I will sit and watch the fireworks. If everything is OK, and after reading the forums for any issues, then I will turn my rig on.

Not that you need another post on this thread, but... I think I'll see how seti starts up without me doing anything! Right now I am running just one other project (on my main host), which is Einstein, but I give it 0 resource per someones recent suggestion to me. This way if/when seti chokes, gags, and drops to the floor, Einstein is likely to be up and ready to give me work. Otherwise, only seti runs. So lets see what happens if I don't change anything.

Much like Mark has his setup sniffing out the kibble, my server(FX-60/GTS 250) is awaiting units as we speak. My main rig(q9650/GTX 480) is off until work starts flowing. I may wind it up in the next few days after work starts flowing. Still debating if it's worth throwing my 8800 into the server before the work starts. Also have a fresh install of lunatics apps on my machines so we are going in hot and blind at the moment. MEDIC!

My plan worked - the first new WUs to come through are a bunch of CUDA that have nicely filled a vacant belly :-)

Yeah same here left the server running overnight and woke up to find 300+ cuda units on the box. I was shocked. Turned on my main rig to see the what would happen before checking the server status at Seti only to realize the we are out of work. Everyone really gobbled up what was there lol.

I suppose they are doing a "staggered" start up leaking work here and there to monitor loads on the new boxes and network. I figure by Friday or maybe Monday they will turn it on full throttle so if there is a need to take it down they can use the 3 day science window to work on them.

My hope is that with Oscar and Carolyn on duty there may be no more need for the 3 day science fairs.
But it is too soon to tell, and there has been no official news yet regarding future outage plans. I am sure the boyz in the lab don't quite know yet.

So the outage each week was due to the servers needing TLC? I was under the assumption it was to perform specific tasks on their end needed for the true "science" behind the project. Man I hope you are right no downtime each week sure would keep a lot of people happy and the work flowing like water. We will see I suppose.

the 3 day downtime was being used to crunch the NTPKR work.
