Hey bit of an issue swapped from a 9800 GTX to a 480 GTX requiring the fermi client so had to abort all my unprocessed cuda tasks as they were erroring anyhow, alas now I have a huge load of aborted tasks in my pc's tasklist but they dont appear to be going anywhere... there just sitting there taking up space in the PC's tasklist... and it cant claim new tasks for my new gfx card because of this and is running short on CPU tasks, how can I dump the dud tasks off this pc's tasklist so I can get new processable tasks? or can a mod do this?

thanks

Xander

I don't know how you managed to achieve that mess ;-) since aborted tasks are listed as such as soon as they are reported, but let me quote from a message (Message 1011377) from the Number crunching forum that might help:
If all GPU tasks have also been finished, uploaded and reported you can detach from the project then reattach. The Scheduler will recognize that sequence and mark all those tasks it thinks are "in progress" as "client detached", then start sending you new work.

The detach will remove the setiathome.berkeley.edu directory and all its contents, so the new work will be accompanied by the stock applications. To get your CUDA card back to usefulness you'll need to reinstall the anonymous platform applications you had been using. The detach also removes the statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml file, if you want to preserve that record of past changes in total credits, etc. you should save a copy before doing the detach and restore it after the reattach.

Gruß,
Gundolf

ty for info, it should be as can be seen they seem still associated with the PC also I'm not using any anonymouse platform apps (i think theyre those optimised apps) I'm only using stock apps, any idea where I can find this statistics file you mentioned I checked C:\Program Files\BOINC & C:\ProgramData\BOINC\Projects\setiathome.berkley.edu but it's missing from both locations, any ideas (Vista 64 bit OS)

thanks in advance

The file name is statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml and the data directory is listed in the BOINC manager Messages tab after a reboot. It is usually hidden by windows, so you have to copy&paste the path into the address box of the file manager (windows explorer) or change the explorer preferences to show hidden directories.

It'll be in C:\Programdata\BOINC\

P.S: All our PCs are now capped in work we get. As long as Seti's doing its science maintenance and servers and databases fall over at whim, we'll receive 20 tasks per computer.
