Help! I am not able to finish downloading new WU's. I get 4or 5 WU's that are pending, then I get a message that reads "Internet access OK project servers may be temporarily be down". How can this be when I get numbers for WU's then they back off downloading? I have tried to shut the computer down and forcing transfers but no luck. Is it me or seti? Any help would be most welcome as I don't know much about computers. Thanks Angela. |

One of the download servers is down. BOINC should change between them automatically, but BOINC 6.10.18 doesn't do that. A fix for that has been included in BOINC 6.10.56, so you could update to that version. Else you'll either have to wait until the server is back up (plus 24 hours for DNS to straighten out), or tell your computer to temporarily not use the one download server that is down. However, this means you have to edit the Windows hosts file. Not something easily done by non-tech people. |

Just go here http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php download the new manager. Open your old boinc manager, click on the advanced tab and shut down connected client, then exit BOINC Manager. Then all you have to do is run the installer for the new 6.10.56. It should take care of everything for you. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
