The deadline on the task you have is the 23rd of May. Even if the task runs 15 hours and you can only crunch it for 2 hours a day, that's 8 days that it will take. Easily before the deadline. That's assuming you have set BOINC to be able to do calculations while the computer is in use. Your AMD can easily do that. I have an AMD XP 2200+ that can do it, even while it's heavily used as a DVD/TV server. |

about the optimizations. could you show us the first 20-30 lines of messages from BOINC. the optimizations should cut your Work Unit run time down by almost half. Are you using the unified installer from Lunatics? if so make sure you choose the SSE2. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

if so make sure you choose the SSE2. I don't think any socket A Athlon has SSE2. They're mostly all SSE + 3DNOW only. But that's easily tested with CPU-Z, CPU tab, Instructions. |

you are so right. I forgot that AMD's didn't do SSE2 until the 3200 754 cpus IIRC though the ak version of the optimized app is a lot slower than the kswn FFTW version for SSE In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
