Nope, I make all my bets on whether I'll wake up the next morning. So far I haven't lost one time.

I don't call it PowerBall, I prefer to think of it as my retirement fund.

Yep, regular as clockwork. Win some, lose some, but since ours started in Nov '94, have won more than lost......

Last big win was £2,614 in Nov '08 with plenty of £40's since then.

We have several games in California.
A multi state game called Mega Millions, which is a twice a week match 6 number game. I only play it when I notice that it's jack pot exceeds 100 million
California only Super Lotto Plus, also a twice a week match 6 number game. Only play it when I notice that the jack pot exceeds 20 million.
I said when I notice. I usually don't go out of my way to check what the jack pot is, but If i happen to be in a store that sells the tickets and I notice the jackpot I will usually put down $5. I have won some and lost some. In my case the losses far exceed the winning.

There are also two other match the number games I don't play:

Fantay 5
Daily Derby
Daily 4
Daily 3
Hot Spots
and Scratchers.

Here is the link to the full list of games.

Nice thing about living close to California, I play it when we have to go over to Sacramento, or when the pay's are what you say. I don't really play it otherwise. I like Scratcher cards too.

It's easy to win the lottery. Just don't play it.

You'll spend more money into it than you get out. By not playing NZ lotto for the past 10 years (at $6.50 a ticket), I've saved $3380!!! Yay!

Well the $8 I spent which is for a whole month or 8 draws, isn't much and over 10 years is only $960.00 total. :D

I'd take $960.00 over $0.00 any day.

Our first year of marriage, Eric and I bought a ticket each month on our wedding anniversary date. It sure was twelve dollars well spent in the "entertainment department", even though we didn't win any actual money. Sure was fun to fantasy-spend our imaginary windfall though!

After that first year, we pretty much stopped buying tickets. Once I bought a handful of tickets and slipped them into napkin rings as party favors for a dinner party we had. Made for fun dinner conversation. I don't recall anybody winning anything. Another time, when the pot was particularly high, a group of people at work pooled some money to play. I think I threw in a dollar or so. Again, no win. Shocker, huh?

Well that's 2 draws a week, right now the Jackpot is at $40,000,000.00 USD.

That depends on how lucky a person you are.

Total outlay for the last 15 & half years = £3,176.00

Total returns = £90k approx as I didn't keep detailed records until 2007.

1st big win was for £3,122.00 back in June '95.

I obviously don't share Sirius's luck!

I play 2 lines a week for the last 5 years (£520) and have won just £30!
