You are on, heck the Nvidia 400 series might even be out by then. I better get as far as I can, I can imagine what your next years heaters will be like....

I could match you if you want to go cross project.

I figure my 5830 should run around 190,000 RAC on Milkyway.

The 4830 should do about 55,000 RAC on Collatz.

Ha, I'm strictly a credit hound for Seti. Once you start mixing projects the stats get all out of whack. I hear I could do well in Milky Way but I want to see how far I can get in just one. Phud and I have been having friendly competition for awhile although I am always playing catch up. LOL He is just teasing me I will get close and some new card will magically appear just watch.

You could use the 285's on Milkyway, but they would still be slower than several ATI cards.

I have almost always used ATI card in my machines, I think the only Nvidia card I ever bought was a FX5200.

after some calculations, i'd say you have a 10-15% chance of passing me.

The only Nvidia cards I have ever owned are for Seti. Seems to me ATI got screwed when they were taken over by AMD. Not the same anymore, but if they came out with a Seti App I would get a couple.

We are still working on a OpenCL app for Astropulse, but it is slow going.

Right now ATI has a large lead since Nvdia still does not have the DX-11 cards out.

Just curious, if you can write one for AP which hardly works anyways...why can't you write one for MB which everyone uses? I have wondered that for a long time. Do they work differently?

Hi Pete, cause you have to get info about the (ATI) cards, on how to use them. (ATI isn't that helpfull on this.)
And how (source-code) to start/work with CAL/BROOK programming language.
Then you need a compiler for this.
It's easier to make (Compile) an app. for Collatz C (3x+1). Then SETI, Einstein, etc. (One result must finish, before next can continue)
(Specially Collatz.C. with works with integers, which fit completely in VIDEO (GDDR5) RAM (single-precision), giving a high load on (Vid)Memory/GPU/Shaders/SIMD's, but not on the PCI_E x 4/8/16 , bus.
That why, 1 HD5770, can do so much calculations. In ~8- 12 hours I've reached daily limit,(~100K RAC).

But my knowledge of CUDA and CAL (BROOK), is far too little, to expain this, clearly.

Maybe you need to add a few kinky items to make it look more like a dungeon. ;)
