Nights I sit here drinking and smoking smokes....
Too much of either and I could lose that which most
I love so dearly...those who care the most.

When you lose sight of what you hold dear
and give it up to things that don't have near
the love for you.

It's not easy then to find those things,
they seem to have taken wings
and left you.
But it is you who have taken leave
of what and whom have cared the most and just who

You have left behind, they've not left you.
It's the other way around you see,
when going away you must always be.
You cannot see the forest for the trees,
you know that's true.

But trust you must in the dawning day
and someday may you wake up and say
that's behind me.

Then the day will dawn and you shall see
that there's not just you, but there is we
and your troubles will all be set free
behind you.

Beautiful Mark!

I dunno, if I tossed it into Notepad and played with it a bit....

What is hard to convey is what it going through you mind when you compose such a silly little bit.......

To me, it is like singing a song I have recently heard, and the cadence goes with that.......

So, when you read it later, unless you knew the song I had my mind, it might not make as much sense to you, poetry-wise.

Hope that makes sense to you.

Be known that kitties far and wide
have flocked to the 'kittyman's' lonely side
when in his time of sad and gray,
many are they who come, are they.

He knows the pointed jests of some,
but come his friends do,
come, they come.

And offer words of hope and praise
thoughts of maybe some not so far off days.

He offers up, from time to time,
these words of somewhat bent up rhyme
as a way of saying the he's still here
to his kitty friends both far and near.

He can sometimes tell that behind the 'net
they hear him cry, they hear him yet
and so it gives his hope a cry,
not just wondering who is where and why.

He knows behind the hidden posts
who likes him least and likes him most
and smiles sometimes when all they say
is 'Where's the kittyman?'
he's gone away.

But he's never really gone, you see.
He's always there behind the scenes.
Watching you when he cannot be
here watching over all his dreams.

So even when you think as such
the kittyman does not know too much,
he's by your side with his kitty dreams.
Crunching Seti stuff.
No matter what it seems.

I love you all, I hope you know
that whenever or wherever else I go
my heart is still kept kept here somehow
just like it is before you now.

Meow, meow,
the kitties still say meow.

"All These Crazy People"

we think we have it made
but the ground is moving
things we used to see
are out of sight
there is something there
that we're not seeing
it ain't fire
could be the light in the eyes

(chorus)
of all these crazy people
runnin' 'round without an answer
to a question they don't understand
all these crazy people
want to grab your soul and eat it
but if you ask them plainly
they don't know why

we think we're in the clear
we're so upstanding
nothin' touches us
up on this hill
but there is somethin' near
i feel it breathing
it ain't wind
that burns the fields with fire

of all these crazy people
runnin' 'round without an answer
to a question they don't understand
all these crazy people
want to grab your soul and eat it
but if you ask them plainly
they don't know why

(bridge)
who is there
you turn around asking
no answer comes
and you're not feelin' so fine
who is there
does anyone know
does anyone know the answer
there's somethin' there the mind cannot describe

(chorus)
of all these crazy people
runnin' 'round without an answer
to a question they don't understand
all these crazy people
want to grab your soul and eat it
but if you ask them plainly
they don't know why

Just a lyric with no melody...yet...
There's a lot of insanity and anger in the world these days...The most dangerous mistakes are often made under such conditions.

I was watching the movie Gettysburg and i took a break...Thinking about all we haven't learned from our history.

"I Would Fight You For It"

could there ever be a pain so deep
that i would take to arms
a battle for the soul i keep
that i would take to arms
a matter sown between us burns
and i would fight you for it
could be no silence
be no peace
if i should dare ignore it

(2010 db michel)

I was watching the movie Gods and Generals...After previously watching the movie Gettysburg...I took a break from the movie to write this down.

"Ice Cold Morning In October"

it's been a long time
but i can't escape the story
won't you come back to me
come back to me now
it's my own sign
that i don't understand the ending
won't you come back to me
come back to me now

(chorus)
ice cold morning in october
woke up hungover
from the apple wine
neighbor bangin' on my door
to wake me up
i guess i didn't make the trip on time

it's been a long time
but i remember all the faces
won't you come back to me
come back to me now
i didn't say goodbye
and the need is still within me
won't you come back to me
come back to me now

(chorus)
ice cold morning in october
woke up hungover
from the apple wine
neighbor bangin' on my door
to wake me up
i guess i didn't make the trip on time

it's been a long time
but i can't escape the story
wont you come back to me
come back to me now
it's my own sign
that i don't understand the ending
won't you come back to me
come back to me now

If you can see my soul within my eyes,
I will be softer than a bed of down
For your fatigue to sigh in and to swoon:
I will be kinder to you and more sweet
Than after vain goodbyes returning soon.
And tenderer than a sky bedimmed with doves.

If you feel your heart rise in your eyes,
like the last perfume of the autumn rose,
If you will enter on my spirit's waste,
Upon whose stones no foot but yours shall sound,
If you will love your visions and your vows,
I will be more your kin than all your own.

Upon my soul's wild thyme and moss, and on
Its bare stones where the sun is wont to dance,
And in its wind with fire and solace laden,
In the whole desert of my crimson love,
I will immerse you in my honeycombs.

Ah! Can you gaze in your blinding soul,
And know your heart has leapt into your eyes,
As the sling sends after the singing bird
A stone at the mysterious welkin thrown...

There are some words.....
Words not yet composed.
Simple thoughts, not yet put into prose.

That confound my mind because I've not yet set
them into words.
I've not figured how to put them just yet.

Words make a mockery of what I feel..
I post them, then delete them, because my
senses reel.

Because I know that you somehow just cannot
get the sense of what
I really mean, because of what I jot.

Sometimes this little brain of mine
Tries to very hard just to define
What I really mean to say to you..
Usually comes out wrong.

I have misspoke and misstated myself so many times..
Sent words to you that did not rhyme.
Broken words.....words of hate.
Things that I somehow failed to relate.

And so, once more, I try again
to find a way to tell you, friends.

With my words, I'll try to be more kind,
And hoping the you too will find.
That I'm not so bad,
Just loving kitties, and you.

I hope my simple words of rhyme
might reach one or two of you.
Just in time
To give me enough
time to ponder....and smile.

Thanx.......
I so often find myself with more emotions to express than words to frame them into.

Little kitty hugs and nuzzles help a lot.
Invaluable, actually.

SILENCES

My poor hands so wan and faded,
Agile once as a bird,
My rhythms of speech you aided,
And by my brain you were stirred;

Poor wrinkled hands, like two
Old men worn and wizened,
My thoughts run on, but you
In listlessness are prisoned.

Yet be blessed, my hands, now that strife
Is done, and the heart reposes;
You taught me touch of roses;
And the caresses of life

All the hands touched, hands of brothers,
And of women you loved in dole,
And the faithfull hands of mothers;
I bear you yet in my soul.
